I hear the numbers are up over last year for attendance.
Yeah the booth size is down, but I think the turn out will be about the same as last year, which was about 2600 people which included about 800-900 exhibitors. I hear there are plenty more sponsors this year also.

I'll be there, so I guess I'll have to wait-n-c

Hmmmmm, Dropping 30 to 40 large for a small guy to market to 1600 people that have no intentions of purchasing sounds like a great deal.

The show will go on despite all the negative post about it. How many years now have we had trade shows?? Don`t see them going away. Changes? Yes there are. But still worth going. For me at least. If nothing but just seeing my friends.

I'm 50/50 now on attending. I know I won't get my ITA money back (I wonder if now I can convince them to send me my "membership packet" ) but with the hotel, transportation and food costs, I'm really beginning to wonder if it's worth it.

For first timers, the seminars will be worth it but the overall show will not be like it was in the past. If you have never been to the Opryland hotel then it will still be an exprience. Also, the days of freebee vulturing is gone. Don't plan on leaving with suitcases of free stuff as many distibutors have cut this part out of their exhibiting. This has cut down on the lines out the door just to sponge off of the vendors.

The shows get smaller every year and some will say that it is better because you get a chance to actually talk to the vendors instead of being bombarded by freebee vultures but on the other hand, attendance is way down from years past and many vendors of the day are gone now and those who are left don't see the return on investment as they used to so either the come in way scaled down or just don't bother showing up anymore.

Another issue is that the show is early this year and many won't release new products or information on them so you won't see many new items for the coming year and will just have to settle for literature sent to you and hype over the phone.

The biggest thing I see wrong with the shows now are they are getting too expensive. Really not worth the money if you are coming in from a long way or bringing a lot of people. Some salons just can`t afford it. This for sure will make the shows smaller. Like Brian said if this is your first time you will enjoy it.

Opryland used to be my account when I was in the telephone biz - I've been to it more times than I care to think about

Hearing that a lot of the lotion guys won't have their new stuff out is making me think I'm 90% sure I won't go. Devoted Creations and MRI are the only lines my disty doesn't carry that I want so those would be the only two I'd be interested in talking to and I'm sure that can be away from Nashville.

You have to be in an approved area to carry MR so going to Nashville would not help you with that. The meeting is off site and you would have to be approved to carry it to attend the meeting. Devoted Creations will have a booth at the show.

I haven't received a response from my email to Max so apparently I'm not in an "approved" area. That pretty much nixes any reason for me to go to Nashville. You did save me some $$$ - thanks

Frankie - I have also been trying to get in touch with Max. He responded to an e-mail from me about 2 weeks ago - I replied 2 times & I haven't heard anything since.

Can you help me too?

Sorry - didn't mean to get the thread off track
