| i'm not cutting back with employee's, but getting more creative in my marketing to bring in new clients!! putting way more energies into bringing in new clients and getting regulars to spend more money ![]() |

| All Star Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 66 | During the slow season I'm cutting hours and therefore employee hours. I only pay $6.75 an hour but also free tans, extra if she does a spray tan, 50% off products and 10% product commission so it does end up being more than just the wage. And it's pretty hard to talk about the economy and not have politics involved ![]() |

| Salon Owner Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: here, there, everywhere Posts: 125 | woodlands, $6.75 is your min wage? i cannot cut back on hours anymore. already did for season, not necessarily for economy woes. i am working on smaller packages that can be sold at more attractive prices. also adding more value to my products (i.e., free tans with purchase). notice that people are still tanning, but many are using the less expensive services or products. |
