Default The SunAngel dillema

Ergo has been forced to make a bed in Europe that conforms to the new laws over there.

The Sun Angel is one result.

Who wants a 20min VHR bed?
Who wants to have to purchase 2 Beds in order to tan the same
number of people as they currently do on 1 bed.
Who wants to put their faith in a computer chip to correctly assign
the power settings to the bed for all skin types.

What if it mis reads your skin and gives whitey too much? Does Ergo get sued or do you?

What if it misreads darky and gives him way less leaving him pissed? And he never comes back?

Sun Angel is pretty. but Try again.

I would rather have a VHR bed 20 min. and determine the times myself as usual .
But for 20 min , I would have to charge almost double regular VHR price.

Oh yeah , and it would cost half as much to buy a regular VHR.

What if the people put the thing on their dark, farmer tanned, arms and burn their ass trying to trick the machine?

I really like the concept of this bed...

Now, does it function reliably and how accurate are the sensors is another story...

But "concept" is a definite winner...

One of the ergo people there told me you can have the sensor adjust the bed based on a 20 OR a 15 min. max session....

@ 20 min. I don't think it will be a huge hit....but if they can make it a 15 minute session time then more customers will use it

The people who are going to buy this bed are going to be owners of 10+ bed salons as a "new technology hype"...

No one who has a small salon is going to buy one because at 20 minutes a session your turnover rate is very low...

This is something that is going to attract its own client base, the more "conscious" and "health aware" customer...

Smart Tanning, you can call it I guess...

How does it know it is reading skin? Can I bring my collection of paint sample chips in various shades of tan & brown & have it test that?

I think someone mentioned in another post that it doesn't give you a read out of any type. It would be neat to be able to see your progression, maybe you start at a 2 & then as you tan that number goes up to correspond with your new color.

In the United States it's illegal for software to make a medical diagnosis. And while I KNOW it's not making a diagnosis, it's using a software algorithm to make a judgment call about a human being's organ (skin) and that's irresponsible.

Salons, and Ergo, are GOING to get sued. I guarantee it.

I have the KBL Basic Care (the skin typing machine)...

The sensors are extremely accurate in determining your skin type and moisture levels in your skin...

I've actually tested many, many clients and friends who were interested into seeing how it works...

Accurate readings everytime...

I'm attatched to a Spa as well and the owner said that it would even be useful to him because he does the laser hair removal and you have to be extremely accurate when determining skin types...

I'm pretty sure Ergoline's using a similar technology...

In that application it is a tool and a human being is the one making the decisions.. as I understand the bed's method of operating, the bed makes decisions..

Yeah but the bed is making decisions based on what that sensor has determined your skin type to be...

If there was no initial reading given, the bed has no instruction on what kind of power to deliver... At that point I would imagine the bed wouldn't even turn on unless a finshed reading has been taken...

Maybe someone can get an Ergo Dealer on here to explain the technology?
