Tanning salon robberies... - TanToday

Just wanted to put an FYI out there for the tanning salons located in Washington states. Apparently (according to the news this morning), there have been 10 tannng salons robbed up in the Marysville/Everett area by a young man about 19 years old in the last couple of days. I haven't heard as of yet if he has been caught but just wanted to let all know about this. I am a little bit south of that, but let my partner know to make sure that she has the panic button on her person at all times while there. Seems as thought this isn't the brightest kid either, considering that it is the first part of JASON and he is just now starting to rob these places? Shouldn't he have hit around April - June? JK

i got held up last year...just found out the guy got 13 years 4 months in prison! oh and he didnt get anything from me! lol

Well, that is good to hear. You know - it's not like in the 90's when everyone paid cash for all of their tanning. Most (about 98%) of my transactions are debit/credit cards so we keep minimal cash here anyway. I can remember making bank deposits for several thousand dollars multiple times a day just to get the cash out of the salon back then.

Yeah pretty stupid, ecspecially with the heatwave we have been having temps in the 100's. He stopped by my salon today around 5, it was busy so he said he was going to come back. Cops reviewed video and verified that it's him. I really hope he does come back because my salon is being watch by undercover cops right now. Hope this will put an end to his hold up spree.

Just to let you know that I saw on the new this morning that he was caught. I don't know if he was caught yesterday or Saturday or what but he was robbing tanning salons and a couple of "Adult" stores.

We think he might have been to our salon during the night because that same night, Desert Sun down the road couple hours later was broken into. Our door is tricky to lock and one of the girls probably left it open because our alarm went off because the door was opened and someone went out the back door. Nothing was taken though. This happened about a week before we took over ownership. Since then we have upgraded the alarm system, changed all the locks, and are keeping the security camera on at all times and recording. Thank god he was caught. Young guy in his 20s from Lake Stevens area I think.
