My understanding is you can use any solution with any LED light. I research this pretty thoroughly a few months ago. I purchase a unit from Beaming White. They use a 16% peroxide solution.
IMO peroxide solutions will give best results. 16% is the higher amount available for non-dental/medical purchasers. |

16% causes some discomfort. 12% has been decent. Stay away from Carbamide, it takes much longer. I bought my light on Ebay for a fraction of what most places cost.

I have the Pearl Whitening System. It's made in Canada. It uses the LED light and 21% carbimide. The dentists in my area sell the at home kit with 3% carbimide and they wear the mouth piece overnight. To be honest, for a session, the client will get approx 3 shades whiter, but it doesn't seem to last. It's not really a 'wow' product for me. The LED light, 30 applications, rinse, 10 at home kits cost me $5200 with taxes. I have paid for the machine in approx. 3 months. Would I do it again?...not sure I would.

I paid $900 for the Beaming White. Plus I got 40 kits with it. The kits are what can make a deal good or bad. If you pay $400 for a used light with no kits, you may be better off buying a new light, with a warranty, and get 40 free kits. Kits will range in cost from $8 to $15.
Carbimide is about half the strenght of peroxide, if I learned correctly. It just doesn't react as quick or effectively as peroxide. 12% peroxide will be gentler than 16%. You might want to consider having both strength. That way if you have a client that is sensitive you can have them applied the 12%. For everyone else use 16%. Will give better results. You can purchase kits from any company. They should all work with whatever light you have. |

Whiter Image has been very successful in our salons, we use the prefilled mouthpiece kits in the tanning beds and have tremendous results. No sensitivity issues whatsoever. We see on average 5-8 shades in a 20 minute tanning session. We charge $39 to use in tanning bed, $59 to do outside of tanning bed with LED light. Highly recommend.

It is a good idea to have both 12 and 16% gels as not everyone can tolerate 16%. The quality of the gel is important too. Many cheaper gels will break down in a few weeks-months and become ineffective. They also have more fillers (glycerine etc.) and less concentration of H202 and more bubbles so all in all you are getting less gel and less results. Go with a gel provider that has has their labs and gells CE and FDA approved.
As far as lights, you get what you pay for. The cheaper lights fall apart after a couples of months (had it happen to me!), the design is bad so the pinch and fray the wires (electrical hazard) and just aren't strong enough to really give good results. You need a light intensity of 800-1200 mW/CM2. Also get a good warranty with free shipping if service needed and support from a technical person at the manufacturer NOT the teeth whitening supplier. What happens if they are unreachable or go out of business? You wouldn't buy the cheapest sun tan bed so why buy the cheapest teeth whitening? |

ALso, look for a teeth whitening system that can tie into you T-Max timer and be controlled from your Point of Sale system. This will make the whitening easier with less administrative overhead and you can run reports on the teeth whitening light to see how often it is used, run revenue reports, and confirm thier is no "improper" usage of the light by staff.

how are you promoting the whitening? We build it into packages and offer unlimited 20 minute whitening for our "Platinum" packages. It gets them hooked and we make money on the ENamel Boosters and specialty pens each time they come in.
