I'm actually not real thrilled about attacking Dr.s as a whole. But the video did make valid points. My favorite is still the weather man.

You can get a poster of that from the net.Hang it in your salon, next to a poster of a derm, holding sunscreen and shaking a bottle of vitamin d ...with the caption "doctors are not always right" Make sure the derm has zits and is overweight.Perhaps a drink container from macdonalds on his desk.Photoshop all of the above if needed.
And I say this is great.About time the gloves came off from our side. They took theirs off at the end of july with their bs.You just have to remember the truth is on the side of the tanning industry.Too bad the tanning industry could not somehow get the natural health guys on board. They are real good at showing how big business lies thru their teeth and puts people at risk. All in the name of profits. They have a great article on there right now talking about how health reform in the usa is a joke, that does not include the word "prevention". Way to go smat tan on this one.Meybey the press will be so shocked at the nerve of the tanning industry to do this that an intelligent media source will say "prove it".Wich will then give the public the truth in an uncencored fashion. |

By attacking doctors as a whole, may stimulate some of them to stand up and say "we know the sun is good for you,not all of us are anti sun"So I say attack them all.The perception is that all doc's are anti sun.So let the pro sun doctors speak up.

True, I have to give that some more thought though. I get a new Dr. each day following me on Twitter. I correspond through email with many of them now. I have no reason to bad mouth them.
I like the poster idea. If I get time I'll photoshop one to share.

I am not comfortable with the rhetoric that the derms and the sunscreen industry are the new "big tobacco" and I don't think the statement that 338,000 deaths result from sunscreen overuse can be substantiated.
Moreover, it doesn't take into consideration the anti-indoor tanning industry role being played by the pharmaceutical companies marketing osteoporosis drugs and the incompetent "yellow journalism" media outlets that publish "hit and run" anti-indoor tanning industry articles (like the IARC fiasco). I agree with Eileen when she said "Im actually not real thrilled about attacking Dr.s as a whole" and I suggest that we should be focusing on finding ways to "educate and inform" the family practice doctors and the public about the benefits of controlled ultraviolet radiation exposure and quit focusing on the derms (who aren't about to change their message). I also agree with 2021 that "the truth is on our side" but the fact of the matter is that we haven't done a very good job of disseminating the "truth" to the public. For instance, the video does a good job of promoting sunlight but (inexplicably) fails to mention that sunbeds are the "ideal" year-round source of vitamin D-effective photons.
