Tanners Per Day - TanToday

About how many tanners do you get in per day during the slow season? What about busy?

How many new customers?

I am just curious how other salons are doing.

On an average day we have 30-50 customers (that is in the last 1 1/2 week) and about 2-5 new customers per day.

Well this is my first week and a 1/2 so I don't know how numbers typically should be.

2-5 new customers per day is pretty good IMO. I wish I was getting 5 new custos per day this time of year.

We get 40-60 avg. for August, steady decline until it bottoms out in Nov. Seems you are doing well with new customers but should be expected if your a new salon.

We are averaging 130 to 145 a day from 350+ from January to July 4th. Yesterday, we ran 210 clients. We are averaging 12 new clients a week. Sells are above last year for about $3500 for Aug so far. Negative press has not hurt us, if anything, we have folks calling in and asking questions about the comparsion. Have seen increase in HP users, especially in the Sun Angel this month. HP Units are my money beds anyway and don't sit idle, but, we've had an increase in clients on these beds with upgrades and new packages.

Wow! You are doing great!
We just bought this excisting salon and it has been open for about 5 years but we have been here a week and a 1/2. But the previous owner did not do anything in the last year to market or advertise this salon. Looking at the books, you can clearly see the decline in business but that will be fixed very quickly.

depends on your area and your equipment mix. I think it really varies from salon to salon and not a real standard. how many tanners is relevant to your equipment. I would rather tan less people in higher equipment than lots of tanners in lower end.

I have found for us, and from talking to others, that in the off season you will see 25% to 40% of the tanners you saw in the busy season. August it will be around 40%, and will gradually reduce to around 25% by November.

Since you just open this salon you you could estimate how many you will tan in the busy season by calculating 50 people per day/40% = 125. But being brand new your numbers will be unpredictable.
