Default changing levels

I am looking to get rid of my current 20 min level 1 beds and move my current 15 min level 2 beds into my level 1 status.

My question is, what do you do with eft people that are currently on level 1 efts and those that are on level 2 efts? do i increase the level 1's?

also, for anyone that has done this, do you keep your pricing as it is (ie just drop the level 1 pricing completely and start with the level 2 pricing?)

thanks for the help!

I'd let the level 1's keep their current price and go in the level 2's - but if they ever cancel the deals off. I'm guessing you will retain nearly all of them year round.

Yes I do think they will get mad but keep it quiet and let them know that if you ever do the same for their level they will get the same deal. It is fair after all, you are pulling the rug out from under the level 1's. I'd think they would understand. If they get cranky you might consider giving them a bottle of your best lotion. There will be some cost like this in this type of move.

eft and single month are a $10 price difference

so 22.95 and 32.95 and 44.95 and 54.95

pricing wise what should the "new" level 1 start at?

I don't know what equipment you have or your comp. but you are low. I'd take out the level ones increase pricing by $10 mth on everything. Leave current efts at the current prices.

my comp is at 18.88 and 19.99 and 17.99 a month for eft. the 18.88 has the same level 1-3 that i have

so your suggestion is to increase monthlies by $10 and leave eft the same price? (just making sure i understand what you are saying ) =)

Wow, that's a $22 difference between level 1 and level 2 eft.

Why are you eliminating the 20 minute beds? Maybe you can keep 1 or 2 and avoid the headache, stop selling level 1 efts and offer a promo to get people to upgrade to level 2 eft. Once you've got your level 1 efts dwindled down far enough, eliminate the level 1 beds and force them to upgrade or go elsewhere.

I agree with kpowr82. If your situation allows keep at least one of the level 1's. How do your beds match-up compared to your comps'?

it is only $10 difference between level 1 and 2 eft currently

I am changing things around at the salon and adding hair, nail and esthetician since i am going to cosmo school. so the former tanning rooms will be private stations. I figure i can have more of a competitive edge if i had 15 min "level 1" beds and also turn people out faster. I have been cutting down the amount of level 1's i have since i bought the salon 3 years ago...i went from 9 to 4 and increased beds in other levels...level 2 is my most popular for eft now since we push that more, but i still have a decent amount of people on level 1 efts

Yep and very tough comp! 2 of the 3 comps i have are local chains with numerous other salons.

This is hard! Something I HATE about levels. My comps level one is sooooo bad I would need a level ZERO to compare beds to when customers are price shopping! SUX!

I would seriously consider keeping 1-2 of them IF YOU COULD!

You can always run a "special" on the level 2 beds at level 1 pricing..matching the comp and showing the customer that they are getting level 2 (or 3) beds for the price of level 1.
