Not sure..I have had one going ....."TAN TILL 2010"...$89.09
(of corse in my small beds) No one is even interested. Getting ready to pull the special. Or I might keep it up. People buying more expensive packages... Works for me! Forget the deal...spend more money! |

That's because your comp always has something cheaper than you. Those clients always follow the savings, why? Because they know they're gonna everyday, sometimes twice a day, so why should they pay more for better beds. At the end of the day it's the same tan. Except they look like shit for tanning that often.
Don't fall into your comps traps. You'll be stronger for it later. |

Not to mention people dont' have that money lying around like before.... have to think a little differently in a recession. I make the same money if not more than before I am just spoon feeding the packages a little differently to my clients

I would not, you would look desperate when you stoop that low. Yes we do have hard times right now, with the news media lowering our self esteem. It will not bring in any more people to tan it is our slow season.

Ok thanks everyone. I think ill pass.
BTW this was just on level 1 beds and you would have to pay for upgrades...if that makes a difference.

That will not make a difference. You will be leaving money on the table. Their was a thread leaving money on the table, look into it. I know we all need money, but, we all need to find a different approach, rather lowering the standards of the salons. Alot of that has been done already that's why there are price wars. I have been in this business for 20 yrs now and I have never seen anything like what we are all going through.

I don't feel I am leaving money the table. Bills are paid. Retention is there. I've done it many different ways. This is the only way I have done that actually is paying my bills...
I can chose to complain that times are tough or fordge ahead In over 4 yrs this is by the way the first time I have not had to work 70+ hours. Which is why, by the way my posts are down. |

Thanks. And if it doesn't I will move on, economy is different as I said husband doesn't mind $20 a month missing from an account he seems to have an issue with $55+ and I am also after the upgrade money, eyewear and lotion. I am after that $20 she takes out of the ATM machine. It doesn't cost THAT much to run a level one bed. I am not emotionally attached to my business. I am in it to make money thats all

Glow, I do not see you making money on $20. You cannot depend upon people upgrading and buying lotions. But, I am a firm believer you got to do what you got to do to learn and if you feel you need to do this and see what happens then go for it. I have a friend who is doing $19.95 and he is very upset because he is not making the money and he feels if he goes up in price he would loose his customers.

I'd need 400+ clients at that fee before I'd be comfortable. Considering the 24 hour gym next to me struggled to get to 300 clients. I'd be very concerned about doing it in my area.
