I hadn't heard until I saw it on this site. Apparently Helios had my email address wrong so I was completely in the dark.
They emailed me a temporary patch that keeps it working until November 1st and the new disks/dongles are on the way. I wonder when the next scheduled crash is set to happen? |

I was thinking about this last night. There is absolutely no point for a company to do this to their software. I can't wait to hear about all the issues this causes today. A Time bomb, seriously helios, grow up.

I have to admit I had no idea this was happening (I never turn off Helios and didn't receive an e-mail). Been trying to get through to Helios and all the circuits are busy. I've turned away about 60 customers already. To deactivate software I pay 2 dollars a day for because I haven't upgraded yet is ridiculous in my opinion.
Who does this? I've turned away 5 more people while typing this... |

Pull the dongle and run the software in DEMO mode.
Make paper notes on all sales, sessions, etc to put in once software is updated. Helios will open fine in DEMO mode, just no transactions function, sales, turning on beds, etc.... Set T-Max for manual operation. If unsure, call them direct. Applied Digital, Inc.

I decided NOT to send back my old dongle just yet. Go figure we are getting all kinds of error messages on Helios today. I will write them down if it happens again. I got no less then 20 error msgs before I got out of helios. I rebooted the computer and I'm waiting to see if it does this again. I would advise not returning the old dongle until you make sure everything is running smoothly. I do hope they put this new version through thorough testing.

Boy, this is about the crappiest thing I've heard of. How can a software company do this? I have never heard of it before...
I researched a lot last year before I opened, and ended up going with TanTrack - anyone hear of them ever doing the same thing?

Helios had the nerve to say ! We sent you an email! We have tried sending you an email for 3 month's?I asked them, Do you think you could have sent out a letter or a phone call? What you want us (Helios) to call all of our customers? We cant do that! Everyone that had problems needs to let them know exactly how you feel? I guess I dont spend enough money with them to get a phone call or letter? I have been on a service contract for 12 years now, you would think they would have ALL MY FREAKING INFO ! Sorry ! Just had to vent a little cause my Salon was Down hard for 3 hours, I had to make about 200 calls to get through because of all the salons that also didnt get an Email and I had to drive 60 miles from work to load a fix! Does Helios care one bit? NO! IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I DIDNT GET THERE FREAKING EMAIL! BUT THEY TOOK MY MONEY EVERY MONTH JUST LIKE CLOCK WORK! |

I'm told that my link will ultimately install 11.6.6. Helios Temporary Update Click HERE to Download not verified, as I'm already on 11.7 from weeks ago This is a SHORT -TERM band Aid. You NEED to contact Helios Tech Support and get the latest version of 11.7.0 and a NEW dongle Or the SAME thing will Happen to you in the next 60 days. There will probably NOT be another Band-Aid like this

I read about this a while back on this forum, also started getting error messages when I logged in every morning. I filled out the online forms weeks ago and have not received the update YET.
I sent an email this morning when I came in and with in a few minutes received an email with the temporary fix. I just set the date back one day on my computer and checked customers in until I got a response.... NO way would I turn customers away, even if I had to unplug the timer and set beds without the program.

Our error was on our first client of the day. It's run fine since I shut everything down including the tmax and restarted. They need to fix their email communications and so does the ITA need to fix theirs.

Helios knows full well how to send out postcards. Maybe they should try out the SmartMail function on their own database ???

Sparky, So is basically the only difference is the EFT? I have read all the trouble everyone is having..WOW. I have the 9.4 version..I do not need the EFT module, think I will keep the "old" version for now. When I am ready to upgrade not sure if I will stay with Helios. |
