Default F.D.A And The W.H.O

Check this out...This is on the FDA website about tanning.
Are there health benefits of exposure to UV radiation?

According to the World Health Organization, brief exposure to UV radiation, about 5-15 minutes twice a week, is beneficial in helping the body produce vitamin D. However, the amount of exposure needed depends on several factors, including where you live, the time of day, and the time of year.
Here is what the W.H.O website actually says.
Are there beneficial effects of UV radiation?

The sun's rays provide warmth and light that enhance your general feeling of well-being and stimulate blood circulation. Some UV radiation is essential to the body as it stimulates the production of vitamin D. Vitamin D has an important function in increasing calcium and phosphorus absorption from food and plays a crucial role in skeletal development, immune function and blood cell formation. There is no doubt that a little sunlight is good for you! But 5 to 15 minutes of casual sun exposure of hands, face and arms two to three times a week during the summer months is sufficient to keep your vitamin D levels high. Closer to the equator, where UV levels are higher, even shorter periods of exposure suffice.

OK, did I just see that the F.D.A kind of misrepresented what the W.H.O said? Seems a bit twisted to me. What do you all think?

One baby step at a time. The WHO used to be 100% against any UV. They are slowly being bombarded by the recent positive D3 articles... and maybe someday will come around.

I just wish they ( the FDA) wouldn't misquote or rewrite what was written to suit their needs. Especially when they give the link to check out. I hate being LIED to by "THE MAN" dont you?
