Default Barry Tomkins Sports Broadcaster's Take on Vit D

I love his take on this:

....And, just when I thought I was being plunged into supplemental hell, came news that while ginkgo biloba may not do me any good, vitamin D is standing by and ready to solve everything else.
Vitamin D, new research tells us, debunks the idea that exposure to the sun is such a horrible thing. The "Sun Vitamin" can actually protect against such things as diabetes, osteoarthritis, skin cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and kidney and ovarian cancers.
Now, don't get me wrong. This is not to say that doctors are advising all of us to lather up with baby oil, use a reflector and lie prone somewhere near the equator at noontime. But they are suggesting that moderate exposure to the sun creates vitamin D, which acts more like a hormone in the human body than a vitamin, and has all the above mentioned potential benefits.
One theory has it that there were far fewer instances of various types of cancer back in the days when people strolled the earth without clothes, than we have since the caveman version of "Project Runway" decided that we should drape ourselves in animal pelts and wear thong sandals (You see how far the thong has come?)
So there you have it - out with the old and in with the new. I'm packing up all my bottles of ginkgo biloba and going to Walgreens to exchange them for a passel of vitamin D. And if they won't do it - I'll just walk home naked.
