Can someone explain the different types of facials? (parabolic,etc)

Parabolic is the reflector system not the facial. It's hard to answer your question as I don't know what your asking. Wattage, size, wirelead, clip-in etc...?

Parabolic is always better than "tin can" reflector.

Vertical is generally better than horizontal "bulb" mount.

Look inside a 1929 Ford headlamp vs a 2006 Corvette headlamp to understand the difference!
