Question Changing Bed From 20 Min to 15 Min

Anyone have any experience changing tanning beds from 20 min to 15 min by relamping to 100 watt reflector lamps from regular lamps?

I have Sonnenbraune beds and they (Sonnenbraune) told me I could convert them to 15 minute beds by switching to reflector lamps and could even go down as low as 12 minutes depending on the lamp.

Anyone have any customer reaction to such a move?

It would certainly save a ton on A/C, power and wear & tear on the beds.

works well in many locations. just watch the initial times when you change. use something like the advantage-R to get down to 14-15 min

We did it with our Royal Suns.
Worked great. No Problems.

not advised to do it in the base of the bed. the lamp spacing and distance will cause striping you can up the uvb of the lamps in the base and put the reflectors in the top.. use the advantage 808 non refelctor in the base and the standard advantage - R lamp in the top..

Using these two lamps in my SunQuest 24 will make my bed a 15 minute'r?

I know I'm cheap, I just don't have the funds to get a new bed in.
I do like the idea of taking a 20 minute bed and relamping to make 15 min bed.

My question though is......if the 808's are put in the base, they are stronger than the regular advantage....you might find ppl complaining about burning and uping the session time won't be even, they'll be burning more on their backs and their asses and not getting that on their fronts which would need stronger lamps cuz the canopy is further away than when you lay on the bench......NO?

You'd be smearing lipstick on a pig.

Stop it before you regret it. Be careful what you ask for becaues you're liable to get it.

Use the non reflector version of the 808 in the base and the reflector version of the standard advantage in the top we have done it many times

ergoline 300 came with the super power R lamps correct? then the bed is more like 30 minutes anyway.. To make it a solid 15 minute bed use the advantage -R 100W.. they are not compatable to the original lamp but do a really nice job and last longer than the super power-R

Umm - don't forget to spend a small fortune getting the bed "recertified" with a new Te exposure schedule if you do that. Otherwise you become "the manufacturer" in the eyes of the FDA.

Not in a "regulated" state? Well you will be soon if this kind of stuff keeps happening.

Moho,

You want to check with ergoline has had the bed certified with a different lamp that will allow a shorter tan time. They will have done all the necessary testing and they will provide you with a new sticker saying which lamps can go in it.

Thanks for the advice guys - makes sense to talk to Eurgoline. It was just a fleeting thought based on other input in this thread. 15 minutes would be nice on these beds but spending a fortune to revamp (relamp) would not be worth it.

If you can't find the number for Eurgoline...try Ergoline.

Bears repeating- AND IF you have a client who develops cancer and decides it's your fault, kiss everything you own goodbye! You think an insurance company is going to cover that?!
