Default LightSource Lamps, Beach Sun info, experience needed

so here is my dilemna... I have used lightsource before, like the midday, love the Desert suns... and I have tried the signature series in my 54 lamp 160w standup... but I have read of some putting beach suns in their standups and base beds with good results although the beach sun is a 20 min lamp, a 160w 6.5% UVB in a 10 minute standup doesnt make sense to me as, well I still think it is a 20 minute lamp.

I was happy with the 160w signature plus, but they are a little expensive and well... I was hoping to get a little more kick out of the standup and the sig's are low UVB 2.5% I think, so not all customers feel they get anything till they wake up in the morning with a nice PINK butt... hehehe

Would really love some advise or expereinced guidance from anyone who has used the beach suns either full set or as some have stated, in combination with another lamp... ie, a beach every other lamp in a standup.

"a 160w 6.5% UVB in a 10 minute standup doesnt make sense to me as, well I still think it is a 20 minute lamp " Why would you run a 160watt lamp for 20 minutes

160 watt High UVB (Philips) and SolGlass mix. 6 -8 mins max when new and extend to 10 mins after 100 hrs

I dont think you would... but there seems to be those who mix in the beach every other lamp with a 90k or sig series which gives a high UVB with a High UVA lamp... best of both worlds I guess... I have not tried it, thus my post asking for more info... as for the lamp choices... I think I will try to stay within the LSI line... very happy with them so far, but I think my lamp combination might have room for improvement in performance and customer satisfaction.

It's not the percent UVB that counts for Te time... it's the MED/hr.

For browning rays it's the UVA that counts.

http://www.solarmeter.com/model5.html

The best of both worlds is max UVA with a MED/hr that matches Te time label.

Phillips advantage 808's 160 watt reflector will give you the 8 min session on the unit......add in a dozen 9k's or sigHP's to the booth and boost the A up a bit if you want to make this unit a featured unit....otherwise...all 808's and short times and midrange prices for a quick turnaround and a decent tan for the money.

48 lamp suncapsule with 808's read 34 on a 7.0 meter with new lamps.

What 20 minute 160W bed have you heard of?

The Beach Sun comes in many different versions.

Beach Sun 100W = strong 20 minute
Beach Sun 120W Aurora Gold = For Sundash 15 minute
Beach Sun 100W Reflector = Strong 15 minute
Beach Sun 160W VHO = good 12 to 15 minute
Beach Sun 160W VHOR = Very strong 10-12 minute

This lamp is similar to the Tan America ZXR lamps. (but better)

For Stand up units you could use 1/2 Beach Sun VHOR & 1/2 Sol Glass or Sig Hp's & that would make for a pretty awesome 10 minute session. The reason behind this is to get all the melanin going with the high UVB lamps & then hit em with a ton UVA like the Sol Glass or Sig Hp.

How much B it has and can you PM me price for a case of those?

We have 3 levels on tanning..

I'd don't like Beach Suns in 20 minute beds, keep them for the middle 10-15 minute beds. I have Sig Series PLUS in my extreme laydown and 24/24 Sig Plus/Sig HP in my extreme standup. OMG it's awesome. (thanks John)

Beach Suns don't get as hott as the Equator or Deserts but they are good for the average tanner. I love the reddness I get from them but the Midday Suns give great brown color in 20's.

I'v got a bed ready for relamping. It's currently got Beach Sun 100W in them and it's a 20 min bed. Can I take the Beach Sun 100W Reflector and make it a 15 min bed?
I've only got 2 of these beds (with 6.5%) and people like the color they get from them. There have been many times recently that those beds have a back up and the client doesn't want to upgrade. Making one a 15 minute would cut down on the back up.
Thanks,
Ginny

Oh and I must agree about the Middays. An awesome lamp. It's what I'm tanning in and the color I get is creamy and smooth. LOVE IT!

Yes.. . .
You're too funny.
My skin looks like a nice coffee color with cream added.
Creamy and smooth. . .

So, would using the reflector lamps make my beach sun bed a 15 minute??

It'll make your bed hotter....might not cool itself off as well if you convert.

I was told that my type of 20 min. bed couldn't use a reflector lamp. So you might want to check with John before you actually order.

I have the Beach Sun in my 15 min. bed and they are doing a great job.

You can use the reflector Beach Sun if there are 30+ lamps in the unit. If there are any less you risk getting stripes on the tanners.

Usually the Beach Sun Reflector will be a nice 12 or strong 15 minute session

All Beach Sun lamps are 6.5% UVB.
