| I have some 20 min. beds that do not have face tanners. I read somewhere on line that they have a lamp that has the face tanner built into the lamp to accommodate beds that don't have facial units. Anyone used these or know anything about them? ![]() |

If you do it - do it because you have several "regular" beds and you want to try to squeeze just a little extra revenue. As Shane says -- this isn't really a true "upgrade", but they'll pay a bit more. Do 1 bed at first, make it "special". Don't do ALL of them -- then you lose the money making aspect, just putting in more expensive lamps for no reason. |

When i meter them, they meter higher under the pink area's. They are dual phosphorous lamps that are supposed to be higher in uvb. body area 5% and the pink area are 6%...for a little more kick. Customers like it and the lamps are cheap anyways. I don't charge extra for them...they are my base beds, i have real VHR beds and HP beds for upgrades. I just use them as a "gimmick" against competing salons that don't offer facial tanners on their base beds and mine do. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. | Moderator | Din, You are correct, I believe. They do have a tad more "B" normally, not what a traditional HP facial tanner would have, and I guess that's why I used the word gimmick. They probalby do work slightly better on a leg application, but do you really want or need more "B" on the facial area? Everyone will have their own opinion, but I'll stick to HP facials for upgrade beds, and no facials for base beds. ![]() |

They can be used as a marketing tool for faces and/or legs - and might make some difference. I'm personally not a big fan of all facials in Level 1 - for a lot of reasons - but see these as a way to make a "little extra" from Level 1 tanners. To each their own. Yes - Afelts - we have heard of them, they exist, and you may wish to use them. ![]() |

| Smartass Canuck Moderator Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Canada Posts: 9,138 | The thing is with me....that because they are in my 32 lamp / 100w base beds, i really don't care what lamp i have cuz the next level up is a 52lamp/ 160W VHR bed....so facials, no facials who cares really cuz they don't make the money to pay your rent anyhow. The upgrades do. Now if you expect to get more money out of them, don't expect spectacular results, expect the same money...but easier marketing for you if you advertise facial lamps in your base beds against competing salons. That's about it. And you don't have to buy new beds to get them. They don't do anything what a real HP facial does....so don't market it that way. Just for you to say that it has built in facial and leg tanners for the hard to tan areas. That's it. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Ditto in a salon with 30 plus units where there is "room" to differentiate into little sub-sections like this. I know several salon owners who have done this. Kinda like selling goggles -- that couple of thousand extra each year right off the top! One friend of mine makes an extra $5k per salon off making a few of his beds 'facial beds' at an extra buck a pop! The "would you like to use the facial and leg tanner bed -- it's only a dollar?" is an easy sell to that previous "cheapskate" who "only" goes on your Level 1 beds! It all adds up! Meanwhile -- your "others" aren't going to start "downgrading" - because your other beds they are in will still be that much better! Win-win. |

I am planning on getting 5 of them for my base beds and was wondering how much they actually do with the facials. The closest "competition" has 6 232s that they market as HP and are 8 years old. I don't mean to be mean but I plan on crushing them. |

| Hall of Famer | I have these in one of my units because they were OEM. these beds also have the soft power facials. "little 25 watters" when the extra lamps are on, these units are brutally strong. I'm considering putting the pink end at the legs, not as a joke, but I think it would even the unit out. |

Plain old blue glass HP facials are the best. Not the mirror glass or VIT etc with just one sheet of glass and high uvb and high heat. How hard is it for people to understand tanning vs frying? The dryer the skin, the faster the fade..and people wash their face so much more..with less layers of skin....high uvb even on the guidos of jersey means dark, dry, thick skin that ages fast and fades fast. |
