| hi! I am from Romania. I own a tanning salon. i have 3 stand ups: 2 Luxura V7 and 1 luxura V9, by Hapro. Recently I relamped them with Cosmolux Vhr 9 k 90 180w lamps and Cosmosun 28 R( alternatively,180 w drosers). My clients are not very pleased with them, because they need to tan for 15 min sessions.they wold rather tan for 9 or 12 min. what can I do to make them happy? Should I change lamps again? What lamps should I try? |

That is what the poeple want anyway. Seems as if no one wants to wait for an actual tan anymore. Just zap 'em. |

As long as the new EU "rule" of 0.3 W/m˛ Eeff cap does not apply to your "grandfathered" beds/booths, you can put anything stronger in there you want. Your local lamp seller should be able to recommend a higher UVB lamp with maybe 3 CIE MEDs in 10 minutes. That would be about 4 FDA MEDs in 10 min... or 24 MED/hr dose rate. In EU 3 CIE MEDs = 600 J/m˛ which = 1.00 W/m˛ x 600 seconds. Got it? If not.... then you need one of these: http://www.solarmeter.com/model75.html __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................ LSI Signature HP's are a great lamp too....not as high UVB as the Philips ones...but great performance. In my standup i have Solglass and LSI Signature 5% UVB alternating....great performance out of it. Full session is 12min. readings with 150hours on lamps UV 5.0 - 55 UV 7.0 - 22 __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Why don't we just take the safety labels off everything and see what happens? |

Since there are so few distributors for tanning beds and lamps, the prices are very high. I shoud try selling solarmeters. Maybe that would be a better bussines for me... |

Italy: Vito Marino ("Beat") from Samoa Club (+39) 0 25 5600659. NL: Dennis Elbers from Alternatief (+31) 0 71 5820623 They both have Model 5.0 & 7.5 meters. And other EU distributors here: http://www.solarmeter.com/distributor.html have 5.0's plus some other models. At least then you could test lamps strength for yourself. Also, closer to you, Lighttech in Hungary makes almost all the lamps for Hapro and many other companies. Contact Imre Krisztian imrek@lighttech.hu and maybe he can advise what lamps to try for 9-12 min sessions. __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................ The booths have 48,lamps, 180w, and maybe if i alternate the 9k with a high uvb lamp, customers will be satisfied with 12 min sessions. What is your opinion? |

| Rookie Join Date: May 2007 Location: Belgium Posts: 44 | Patricia, look for a lamp dealer in Germany...much cheaper. And buy the meters directly from Steve...also much cheaper...(I got mine delivered in Belgium in 2 days!!!) Steve, are you sure Lighttech makes the lamps for Hapro? I always thought they were Phillips... Brian, what's wrong with Hapro. I've got more than 30 beds (Lumina C, E, X5, X7, 530) from them and never had any major problems. If something is wrong, they are easy to fix. I believe they have an excellent price/quality ratio for a base bed (not high level), and they do not discolour or fall apart after a few years... |

Have you heard, by chance, about a new lamp from Liightecch, Superbronz? Many saloon owners use these lamps in their stand ups, here.I am wondering if it is worth trying it... |

Patrix: The meter prices are on www.solarmeter.com . Most people start out with the regular cheapest one... Model 5.0 for total UV (which is mostly UVA). For reddening rays (mostly UVB) use the 7.0 or 7.5. Read this about how to use: http://www.islandsuntimes.com/04-07/measure.htm __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................
