| I'm pretty new to this whole tanning bed thing so I hope this doesn't sound like a totally stupid question to ask but can you upgrade a bed by changing the lamps in it?I mean I have two Sunstar tanning beds that are 20 minute tanning beds and use regular 100watt lamps in the bottom and 100 Plus in the tops, is there anyway I can put a more powerful lamp in it and change the time to 15 minutes? I have a ETS Solaris 442 that is a 15 minute bed and the only difference in the lamps it uses is it has 100 Plus in the bottom and has 100 Reflectors in the top, it just doesn't seem like there is that much of a difference in the lamps yet the time is 5 minutes less and the Solaris does tan better than the Sunstars? Anyway, I need to relamp them both very soon, any suggestions to the best all around lamps for both of them? We have several salon in the area so I would like to put the best lamps for the price in them so my clients will be happy! Thanks for your help! ![]() |

The ones that actually pay your rent and put money in your pocket. Keep the base beds performing as a base bed. Don't bother upgrading your lamps to give them stronger color. YOu don't want that from a base bed. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Call John Hayes at URI he'll help you find the right lamp 1-800-247-3251. If it is regulated he has a Light Sources Select manufactured specifically for the speed system in the Solaris. I just have so many salons around me that I need to give the people a good reason to use my salon. The one salon that is right down the street from me has all new lamps in her beds and everyone says they are so hot and you can tell their new. I tried to explain to them that just because they are hot and burn you doesn't mean they are better but they don't seem to understand that. I was just trying to make them better at a reasonable price. And no Georgia is not a regulated state. |

If you want to give them an amazing tan off a base bed...you can achieve that, but you won't be in business very long as they will never upgrade. Which means you have to stop paying certain bills like rent, electricity etc....to give what the customers want. An amazing tan with no need to upgrade for $5.00. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. I use interlectric 100w 6.5's in my sunstar beds. start them out at a lower time & work their way up to the 20 min so not to burn. My clients are tan! Even the pale people get color. I changed my Starpower 548 from 100w to 160w by changing ballasts(small fortune, but worth it & less than buying a new bed). I encourage upgrading for more umph to their tans in either my stand up(sundome) or turbo(starpower) & of course, lotion, lotion, lotion(although some think they know it all). Feel free to let me know if I should try something else-am open to suggestions. |
