| Hall of Famer | Are you talking LP or HP lamps? For LP I've used phillips swifts, advantage and the 808's. Depending on the bed you'll be using them the advantage or 808's might be to agressive of a lamp. Swifts tanned great while the other two types were a bit too much for the average skin type tanner. With the swifts I got a 25% dropoff at around 550-600 hours, but the beds they were in ran pretty hot. |

You ask advice....again, again, and again...and it comes back to you the same...supra and radium which makes supra. Get on with it. Pretty soon you won't be getting any advice as you don't seem to be hearing what you want to hear. Buy the phillips and have your guy install them. My god, you are going into the tanning business and can't install a facial lamp? You're in for a quick trip into tanning and out. Do you know how to install a light bulb? its nearly that easy. Sorry to sound this negative way...but you're asking for advice and not taking it from people whom have been in the this industry for years. |

For Highpressure facial lamps, Radium/Supra..same thing. and even Heraeus is a good performer. Just cuz your disty only carries Philips...doesn't mean you settle for them. Call John at URI and have him ship them to you. If you can't install a lamp yourself....you're heading for disaster. Time to start learning...the hard way. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Why don't we just take the safety labels off everything and see what happens? |

Meter all your old lamp beds NOW so you can see the improvement with whatever kind of new lamps you get. Then keep metering the new ones as they gradually fall 30% below new readings - so you'll know when to change them. At least CALL John at URI and discuss what lamps work best in what beds at what Te times before you jump off the cliff. Certainly certain Philips are fine for certain applications - but at least get some straight scoop first. (Certain used 3 times in one sentence... alliteratation³) __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................ "One of the 'ORIGINAL' TanToday Gang" |

| Express Tan Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: MN Posts: 952 | No offense to anyone, but I am trying to get opinions from someone besides the 10 postwhores that are always dishing out the same info! It wouldn't make sense to listen to one guy over the next just cause he says so. I value many of your opinions, but they really are just that, opinions. I have spoken to John at URI and Robert at UV and got 2 very different qoutes on two different kinds of lamps. The guy that is installing my beds generally only carries Philips. I'm sure part of that reason is the $ he makes off them. I am trying to get the current owner to help me with the first lamp changes as I really don't know how. How could I if I never have done it? I think I have done a good job researching on the net and through contacts, now I just need the actual hands on experience. Steve- I will be contacting you for at least a 5.0 meter and maybe 7.0. Feel free to send me a quote and advice in a PM. Thanks! |

Still tanned great However, the 812 runs cooler than my other HP units because it has all the same fans as an 818, but one less column of lights, so this would probably acount for the longer lamp life __________________ www.islcovetravel.com |

I've had great experience on these posts and great advice from other owners..and have taken the advice. You should stop asking so many of the same questions and move on. When numerous owners tell you something is great....take it and move on to the next question. Stop beating it to death! signed, postwhore ![]() what does din say? Fak em | |

Heraeus 24/50 HP lamp wipes the floor with Supra 500 watt plug-in in Ergo 600 facials for sho. You'll get better responce from me if i know what beds you are putting those Philips in. |

| All Star Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Oregon Posts: 87 | Opinions are like pie-holes...we all have one. My personal opinion is that Philips LP lamps are great for MOST applications. Nice combination of quality and price. The Philips Advantage XPT 160-watt lamp has been very popular with many of my clients. One heads-up on Philips LP lamps...they don't like to be started by the Cosmedico electronic starters(Philips electronic starters-no problem). The Philips 400-watt HP is the industry standard and a great lamp. Many of the higher-wattage HP lamps by Philips are just so-so. Again, if I knew what bed you're relamping, I'd have better input for you. |

| All Star Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Tan Town Posts: 67 | For low pressure lamps I have stuck with Phillips for a few years now. I like them much better then Light Source which I used for 7 years prior. Better output and lamp life. LS really has some bad batches of lamps. I also throw in a few Hereaus in the 160W LP lamps which are also very good. As far as HP Phillips is not the best. Still like Hereaus the best for my needs. Keep in mind that no ONE Company has the best HP lamp for every level of lamp. Hereaus & Supra seem to the most complete lines as far as HP lamps when it comes to output. I agree, Phillips LP lamps sucks when it comes to getting them started with elec starters. Am I the only one that thinks elec starters are OVER RATED?
