| Hall of Famer | Yeah...believe it or not. I want some of my VHR users skin type 3+'s to be happy with a 15 minute base bed session. I already have an idea of what lamps I need to use in order to achieve this, I just want more feedback on the subject. I did a search and everything came back the same: "talk to John from URI". I need feedback from salons who have 100watt systems with agressive lamps that satisfy pujabi hardcore customers. 100w Reflectors? non reflectors?...don't really care even if I have to drop the session time down to 12 minutes. The bed in question is a royal sun 32 with no facials. The lamps are not tightly packed together like tanses for example so would a high "b" reflector cause "striping"? |

A bunch of A and a little kick of B to make sure you are getting results in 15min. Very Similiar to a Sig. Series HOR+ which would be another good choice. |

| Hall of Famer | Ok, I should be more specific. Is there anyone who on a 32 lamp bed got a lamp reading 16-18 Med/hr on the 7.0 while output reads around 25-30mW/cm? It is my understanding the meds are a bit on the high side for a bed labled as a 20 min. but I will be dropping the time to 15 min. the A is not extremely high. I don't have a 6.0 (hint Steve) but am I right in assuming the B on a lamp like this should be mod. to high? |

Don't use reflectors (even though they are stronger) when the lamps are not packed tightly together. Your pat answer of "Call URI John" still might be the best bet... because he has all the meters and can tell you approximately what they would read in most kinds of beds with most kinds of lamps. Or - just go get frybaby 10%B panthers (ouch) and take your chances on possibly big MED/hr.... reducing Te down near 10 minutes. Base bed from hell haha. (24 MED/hr is 10 min Te). But you won't get 25-30 Model 5.0 values from them. "HOT" 100W tubes are usually down near ~16 for Total UV mW/cm˛ because they sacrifice UVA to get so much B. __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................ I have 3 Sundash 232's 15 minute beds that hardly get used, not that they don't tan, but the wow appeal isn't there either. Running AUVL 100 watt 6.0 UVB's now. They are OK, but I am looking for something with a bit more punch for that 15 minute session. Might go back to the orig Genesis 120's they were pretty good. Any suggestions (BTW, John suggested Beach Suns from what I remember) Maybe something with about 7% + to really make it happen and for those fairer skinned, they'd be much better in the mid level 3.4% Heraeus. __________________ Jeff |

| Hall of Famer | understood. and after all...my definition of a base bed is one that uva is not as important as it would be on the vhr level. shorter sessions on a bed that satisfies even types 3+ with more of that "instant" whatever you wanna call it. |

We get about a 14 minute TE time with brand new lamps from the bottom acrylic pointing up. After the first 20hrs it comes in close to a 15 minute TE time. With this set up the bench will be a hair stronger then the canopy. We pull these lamps at about 600Hrs. |

Your bed might be a hair stronger in the canopy BUT I seriously doubt that. Most beds will be a hair stronger in the bench. Nothing to worry about. |

Go with the Advantage R in the canopy as this is not an issue. Then put the Advantage non reflector in the base. Let me clarify on the bench. If you use the reflector in the canopy and the non in the bench the canopy will be stronger for the first 400Hrs. Then the bench will be a hair stronger for the last 200 Hrs. If you go with a non reflector in the canopy the bench will be stronger the whole life of the lamp. I like the canopy to START OFF stronger then the bench with NEW LAMPS. Reflector lamps will lose their power more quickly then a non reflector lamp. Like I said with new lamp from the bottom acrylic pointing up you will get around a 14 min TE time with the reflector lamp depending on the unit. The non reflector lamp will propably drop to a 15 or 16 minute TE time out of the box. |

| Hall of Famer | So how about getting an 808 non reflector in the canopy and an advantage in the bench... both non reflectors and squeeze a few more hours out of them since there is no reflectors used, and the lamps degrade more evenly? |

| All Star Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Tan Town Posts: 67 | You could but keep in mind the 808 has even more uvb. So generally the more uvb and agressive the lamp the quicker the drop off in output also even if it is a non reflector. The advantage reflector lamp will have more output then the 808 which means more UVA. You could go either way it just depends on what you want. |
