A 31 reading basically means the lamps are old as death.

Buck boosters are adjustable? I never really looked at mine. I thought the electrician said mine were basically on or off. I think I tried to look at them before to see if there was somewhere to adjust it but they're up overhead in my back room.

Adjustable in the fact that you can wire each voltage size two different ways.

12/24 can be wired to boos 12 volts or 24 volts.

16/32 can be wired to boost 16 volts or 32 volts.

no, there's no 'dimmer switch' to vary the output.

So John what do you think is a good reading for the Signature Plus in my Sundome? I boosted the voltage up to 230 and im getting a 35 on my 5.0 meter. Does that sound right?

Just tan in it yourself, stand ups are much harder to read then beds. Also you should take your reading only 1/2 way into the session. The bed is most likely getting too hot & after 7 minutes the output is dropping. This is typical with units that are not cooled properly or not vented properly.

If the lamps are less than 100 hours old, something about the machine has got to be impacting the output. I would try getting a tanning bed serviceman to look at it.

35 sucks. Put in a better lamp than a sig plus. The sig plus has the uv-b but only average in uv-a. SigHP,Supra,9k90's all have booming A and can be used alone or in the case of 9k's...mixed with higher uv-b lamps like phillips 808s or Heraeus 23's. Supras have enough B on their own.

That sucks, I hope you didn't lose any customers either. Now you know why they are called buck (to buck voltage down) boosters (wired the other way to boost voltage up)
Try this, check to see if the white wire is connected to H1 and out to the bed. The incoming black wire should be connected to X1 and X4 in the booster. It only boosts one leg of the circuit the other leg is connected to the starter circuit. If it is boosting the white wire (in an ETS bed) the increased voltage is not reaching the lamps
