Easy there champ....

I was a little confussed because you were not the one who orginally posted. Ah but maybe you have split personalities. Always like to double check before posting advise but you seem to be on top of it.

It means the kryptonite is improperly shielded. If superman tans in your bed he will lose his powers. The electrodes and caps in the tube get very hot, hot enough to vaporize the mercury. If the lamps have some hours on them the phoshpors that normally glow white may start to wear off. The hot electrodes then become visible and the retained heat after shut down is enough to vaporize a small amount of mercury, or the capacitor theory may be correct. I would meter them and if the lamps are still producing don't worry about it. I would start charging extra for the "afterglow" which allows a customer to relax and slowly return to the hustle and bustle of daily life

I posted for a friend of mine who doesn't check in here often. She just relamped her stand up and was wondering why now, all of a sudden, the lamps glow pink for a bit after the unit turns off.

WHERE is John from URI??

That's all it is.
^^^^^I already told you what it was.....capacitors hold a charge after the session. When they are discharging the power it, it sends power to the lamps, even after the session....trying to ignite them.....having them glow or randomly try to light. When the power drains entirely from the capacitor, it will stop.

Do this, turn the bed on and of 10 or 12 times, pausing for a few seconds each time. When you are done, are the bulbs still glowing at the ends?
