Default Relamping Home Unit with Commercial Lamps????

I have a friend who's sister has a home bed, and wanted my old lamps I just replaced (still a 100-200 hours left)... What would happen if the lamps are a little higher wattage? The lamps I have are 120watts, and I'm guessing their bed uses less; however, he didn't know off the top of his head what they were. What problems would arise, and would they work?

120 Watt lamps are basically a sales gimic. Really they're 100 watt lamps. The problem is whether the bed requires bi-pin or RDC lamps.

Ok thanks, i'll try and find that out... If the wattage of the lamps i'm giving her are too strong (I also have 160W), will anything happen to the bed?

No, nothing will happen to the bed.

I believe, if I'm correct, that regardless of the lamps output, it will only put out what's rated on the ballasts.

i.e. if the ballast is only 100w and the lamp is 120 or 160, the lamp will only put 100w due to the power pumped out through the ballasting.

So, as long as all the circuitry's good and it's wired correctly there shouldn't be a problem
