Any of the "new era" lamps peaking at ~365nm have more UVA than "old era" at ~350nm. But they read about 60 on a 5.0 meter vs HP lamps around 130... so less than half as "strong" output.

I don't think she knows what she is talking about. Maybe she should stay in the Newbie Lounge for a year or two...

you can post. But when you post a question like that...which is unanswerable without you explaining WTF you mean...then we have fun at your expense and tell you to go play at tantalk where people talk about what color paint to paint the wall below the plant.

No. You have to bite the bullet and buy a HP bed.

That is like saying: "Are their any tires I can put on my Kia that will make it fast like a Ferrari?"

It ain't gonna happen.

Interlectric has a HP9 lamp similar to the cosmolux 9k90, but has less uvb & more uva. My disty was telling me about them this week. Have been around approx yr and a half-am thinking about getting them for 2 of my laydowns since I can't 'bite the bullet' just yet. Christa, I think this answers your original question.

Your best bet is to talk by phone to someone who knows lamps (like John or Rick at URI), rather than waste your time here with morts like Solarmeter.

christa, if you meen have we tried the low uvb low pressure lamps, yes i have, and customers were not as happy with them. I have heard people stagering every second lamp one high uvb, one low uvb with much more success than all of the low uvb low pressure lamps. what i have to ask though is why would you want to do anything that would be done in in your opinion to improve a regular bed? there is no money in regular beds, focus your $$ on VHR units and HP units. YOu can pick up used matress HP units for next to nothing, even free sometimes, and they should get you $35 drop in rates, and then you'd have true HP.

I see Mr Ed hasn't changed... since his days of highly un-technical answers to the "Lamp Quiz # 69" series! Careful Ed... or we'll sic the Drew Dog back on you lol.

She finally asked a question that made (some) sense in another thread... and got a respectable answer: Meter Readings
