| I have several different Tan America beds that are getting ready to need relamping and would like to ask suggestions on best lamps to relamp with as I have never relamped before. They are all late 2007 model beds with less than 500 hours on them and all have the original TA lamps in them. I would like a lamp that tans as well as original TA lamps or better at a reasonable price. Lamps thats I currently have: Santa Barbara 32 HO Premier Series 100w all around Pacifica 18 VHOR 160 W Premier Series on canopy 18 VHOR 100 W Premier Seriess on base Mailbu 42 VHOR 160 W Premier Series all around Any suggestions on lamps would be greatly appreciated! | Hall of Famer | I don't use Tan America lamps anymore there is thread somewhere about it. I have midday suns in my Santa Barbara I am happy with them. When it comes time for my Catalinas I will also be getting away from Tan Americas lamps |

Yeah output is great for about 100-150 hrs then they will crap out quick. You need to stick with an RS style lamp in TA units that use the Old Magnetic Styles 1970's technology. If the beds are newer & have the electronic ballast in them then you are free to use almost any lamp. 100W doesn't matter as much as the 160W lamps. What are you running in the SB 32's right now? __________________ |

| Super Star | I dont like change...I just buy what was in the beds when I got them. Seems to work out alright, although i am sure i could get a better deal elsewhere __________________ "Well-behaved women seldom make history." --Laurel Thatcher Ulrich |

It's a huge cost in the making of the bed. There are plenty of affordable good quality lamps on the market, don't get sucked into BS marketing that many Bed manufacturers put on lamps. __________________ |

All my TA Beds are 2007 model with electronic ballast and energy saving package. I am currently running TA HO Premier 100w in my SB and TA VHOR Premier 160w in my pacificas and malibus. The lamps I currently have do seem to give great color but like I said this is my first relamp and I have never tried any other lamp for comparison. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone for your input! | |

More on the way but may take a week-10 days for stock to arrive. tnSherrie, That's great that you have the electronic ballast, you will have much better options & less problems with lamp failure. __________________ |
