Hey everyone....contact David Buell. He's a great guy and has reasonable pricing. I love his solution.

When you ask for a sample to be sent out to you, keep in mind you'll have to pay the shipping for it. The poor guy is not going to send out free solution and pay for shipping... He's a very small company with an amazing product. He's not a Caltan or a Mystic Tan with millions backing him.

But he's a great guy that is willing to bottle it and send it to you to try, you just pay the shipping charges....no big deal.

He's a great guy so take it easy on him.

Dave,

I've received 3 five gallon jugs from him so far and i've never had it turn green. It's a good product.

Call him and ask for a sample to be shipped out to you. Just pay the shipping....and try it out. Tell him i sent you. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Din, is the solution from Dave Buell only to be used in a booth? Or can it be used in handheld HVLP too?

You can use all solutions in any sprayer, machine or handheld.

Brian is correct. A solution spraying through a nozzle. That's the technology. it doesn't matter if that nozzle is in a booth, in your hand or laying on the floor. Whether it's being pushed by a small air compressor, a big one in a booth or HVLP.....liquid is liquid.

Wow.. all this time I thought you had to have a different solution for a booth vs. hand held. I thought I read something about the viscosity being different for different units. Maybe it was a marketing ploy so that only 1 type of solution would be purchased. Thanks for the info!

This idea didn't work for me. I was told by the rep the same juice for the booth would work for the gun, but when I tried spraying someone with it, it came out of the gun like chocolate pudding! It was a real mess. I called the co and the head guy told me he was sorry the info I had gotten was incorrect. You cannot use the booth juice for the gun. Maybe it has to do with which co you are dealing with?

Most solutions do work with both booth and airbush(HVLP).

I have an ITS Ultramist and tried a new solution. The first week was great, but now I am getting runs and orange feet. I turned the pressure down and got dots. Any suggestions? The solution was recommended on this thread, for gun or booth.

Thanks for your help.

Solutions are made specifically for booths and airbrush. They do vary to their specific formulas due the size of nozzles and pressure. I would ask for solutions specific to the machine they are used in always for max performance.

IMO solutions are not solutions. Back when I had all old blue box Mystic I tried a solution that was really thick coming out. It seemed to have too much oil in it or something. Clocked everything up. I had a real hard time cleaning everything out. . I use the same solution in our hand held and it works great. Love it.

Hmmm... I got the 5 gallons from Dave Buell and he said to cyphen it into my canister for the HVLP. I haven't found a cypnehing tube so I haven't tried it yet. I'm kinda nervous now. Has anyone tried the Buell solution in their HVLP?

I can't lift it and pour without making a mess. And how do you get the lid opened? I guess I was kinda busy when I got it so I looked it over quickly and set it aside til I got a cyphening thingy.

If you don't have a wrench for it...which you probably don't from what i read. Put a flat head screwdriver into one of the slots of the round lid on top. use a hammer and hit the side of the screwdriver (counterclockwise) to loosen the lid. Once you loosen it, you unscrew it with your hand and it's open.

Have a customer or employee or friend or family member lift the 5 gallon jug and you hold a smaller jug. (maybe rinse out an old bleach bottle, or another jug of some type) Put a funnel on the smaller jug (dollar store sells them) and pour it in. You can also put the jug standing up on the ground with the funnel in it. And you lift and pour it into the jug yourself. The jug has a handle. One hand holds the handle, the other holds the bottom of the jug. It's thin liquid....like water.

Have that new jug to use for your hand held to refill it whenever you want. That's it.

They also sell jugs out there for camping that have spouts that you can open and pour out. i use that for my sanitizer solution. Makes about 3 gallons and i pour it into my spray bottles with a funnel to refill them.

The solution is good....you'll like it.

Tried the Buell stuff. Love the initial color. Not really dark but a great tone. Not as thick as Norvell but it never dried. I'm sitting here sticky as when I just sprayed it on. I feel like I sprayed apple juice all over me. Has anyone noticed this? Any ideas on how to lessen this effect? Tech did two pretty heavy coats on me. Next time I'm gonna make sure it's just one coat and see if that helps. I love it, but I can't let clients feel like this. They'll kill me.
