Default Walnut Extract in sunless solution

Have any of you who offer sunless tanning asked clients if they have any allergic reaction to nuts? Many of the sunless solution have walnut extract in them and I am wondering if some one with allergic reaction to nuts would have a reaction with the solution beaing sprayed on them.

We have been doing sunless for 2.5 years and never had a problem yet, but I also never thought to ask clients.

Same here sunnydays, never a problem, but never thought to ask.

Silly me really, cause I as everyone when purchasing JA lotions, because of all the nut oils they use.

Only problem I ever had was that a lady was actually allergic to the dha. She knew it from prior use of self tanning lotions purchased in the retail stores. Forgot to tell us.

over 8000 sprays. never heard of problem of any kind.

Walnut shell extract is more like tea, It IS NOT made from nut "MEAT" the shell is ground to fine powder which is then "Brewed" like coffee. This extract is then boiled to reduce the amount of water in the solution.

Allergic to DHA? possible, but not likely... MAy have been allergic to any number of the other ingredients in a particular product. DHA is a SUGAR molecule. Is this person also allergic to fructose, sucrose, glucose?

More info available at norvell website and also Merck site.

you welcome...

Hope That not sound condescending.... I had no intention of that.... I work with chemists on formulations. I also look at the fact that all the lotions on the market do not expressly state "Made from Nuts" on THEIR labels.

Pretty sure if there were a concern FDA would require DS and others to disclose that fact.

I was concerned about this too but was told that since it was shells, it wouldn't have the same reaction if you are allergic to peanuts for example. I am allergic to peanuts so this was the first question I asked and I haven't had a reaction.
