Ok, I have read every 'searched' thread on Veraspa on here. Not much really or as of lately.
Considering one because I like the drying idea for less complaints. (the complaints is why I never got into it with the blue box, and the $55K up here in Canada for one a few years back) Anyway my questions: Why do many posts say no barrier cream? Is is due to the lower DHA content? Is there problems with this? Now that they have been out for a bit, how about mechanical problems? Are there more repeat customers due to results? Does the "exhaust" system really vacuum up all the mist? I am looking to put it in regular tanning room with 8 foot walls to a 12 foot ceiling. I don't want brown mist getting all over everything. Do the leg, face only option sell that well? Or the tan lotion application? Thanks in advance for your imput.

We have had ours since May and the over spray is min. barrier cream still needed we feel on hands and feet on the toes we give the clients disposable flips to wear so you are not stepping in the overspray that does drop. We also changed setting to 6 sprays not 4 just to get full coverage on the sides. Yes the filter does work good as far as pulling out mist in air. We clean out the filter 3 to 4 times a week.

yeah, like $25K from Uvalux. I would find a good US price and talk them into that because of par. I don't care what they paid for it earlier.

I use barrier on mine as well, sole o's work good and someone mentioned contact paper cut in rectangles stuck to the bottoms of feet keep from tanning the bottoms. The barrier doesn't really work on the bottom of the feet. You can actually open your eyes while being sprayed once you feel that it has passed your face and you do not have to hold your breath or gag on the solution.
I am interested in the 6 spray pass, what page on the manual is that? I am so looking into that! |

The wife and I tried the newest lastest upgraded model in California this month. We are replacing out old spray booth with the Versa Spa in mid Oct.
We were both very impressed by the coverage, even with just 4 passes. The unit we tried had the Prep, Dark Solution and Clear Solution loaded in it. We both did the Prep, she did the dark and I did the clear. Her color was great a well as the coverage. The clear kicked in but I felt that perhaps it was to light of a color after the next day. I have been using Cal Tans Clear Prem Solution in my booth for a long time and I think Cal Tan Clear is better. We both like how the unit worked. I loved the dryers, little if any over spray. The spray comes out as a fine mist much like a hand gun spray, very fine. We did not have any missed areas of coverage at all that we noticed but we already had base tans too so that could be why. They told us to put barrier on finger tips only. The wife did I did not. We just wiped our hands and bottom of the feet with baby wipes. We have no staining of the hands or feet. I liked how the unit worked. I am still going to wall off the top two foot gap of the room with acrylic to box it in. We were both impressed enough to by the unit a few weeks later. The only thing it still needs is a voice system telling the client when to turn, when to hit the bottons etc. The staff member helping us ran through the instructions so fast we were sure we were going to screw it up. I would think that would have been a easy thing for them to do or add and it would help us I think. The only other thing I have to decide is what to load in the machine. Do you go with Prep, Dark, Clear solutions or go Prep, Dark, Anti-age as an ending. You get just 3 choices yet they have like five to choose from. I guess the next thing would be to have room for all five. Also, can anyone tell me if they have their T-max hooked up through Helios and if you can program that to send all the different codes right through the computer. The salon we were in sent it through a t-max at the front desk. Cost is around $22,000 with now them adding in a bunch of free solutions for buying through Oct and the show. |

coverage should be fine if your settings are correct. If you feel you are not getting complete coverage you should have a certified magictan installer come out and readjust your setting. They can be a little tricky to get right and you can be spraying allot less than you should be if it is set wrong.
Overspray out the back is now non-existant with the addition of the new second stage filter. Less solution is needed for coverage than in the older style booths and mystics, therefore there is less need for barrier spray. Their is very little collection of spray on the floor so bottom of your feet is minimum. We still offer barrier in the rooms but very few use it anymore. We have 5 Versaspas between our locations. |

I have never used one but my girlfriend bought one this year brand new and she is having complaints. Mostly she says because customers dont listen to directions but she is regretting the purchase.

We have had one since early April and it is hands down the best decision we have made. It pays for itself every month and we have had great word of mouth and many repeat customers from it. We use the tinted (dark) bronzer, the prep spray, and the anti-aging moisturizer as our 3 standard solutions. We also have a bottle of the UV maximizer that we have yet to use. We chose the tinted bronzer simply because it gave the customer something visible to see when they come out of the room to minimize that "I didn't get anything" mentality. We do use the barrier cream but only on hands and feet as true barrier. As far as overspray, we do have a little bit but not anything too terrible. I think it is mostly due to air flow in the room. Air flow might be the answer to why you are needing to spray 6 instead of 4 passes. Ours is set for 4. Our installer spent a lot of time positioning the unit in the room to minimize air flow from interfering with the spray pattern. We don't sell alot of the face/legs only but we have had some. Most people go for what we call the "Ultimate Spray" which includes a prep, bronzer, and moisturizer spray all in one multi-session. They seem to love it and it is easy to sell.

Nice post Labweb. I feel better about getting mine in a few weeks. I have been leaning towards the Dark, Clear and Anti/Hydration instead of the prep. I could offer prep but want to give clients a choice. I have had another booth, the dark solution really rubs off on clients clothing or bed sheets. I had major problems with clients screaming at us that they had brown spots on their bedding etc. I switched to Cal Tan Clear years ago and never had a problem after that, so my clients now use to the clear. I thought of offering both. We did the Versa Spa, my wife went with the dark, I did the Clear. We got back to the hotel, she falls asleep on the bed. I noticed later a big old brown spot on the bed spread. Her color was great and darker then what I think I got out of the clear. (I think Cal Tan Clear is darker) The booth I tried had the Prep, Dark and Clear as the choices.
Still debating this. I have a two Formostars as was thinking of sending clients into it for just the Anti aging and Hydration spray to cool them off and give them a great skin treatment at the same time for like a $10 upgrade charge. (Throw in a free one the first time) Any other ideas would be great. |

Sorry, you are right, you can set it to 6 passes in the software set-up, I just dont know why you would do that.
Why would you set it to 6 passes? You will only get about 30 sessions out of a jug of solution. The pressure settings are set based on a 4 pass system giving an average of 50 tans per jug. |

I was thinking of buying the magic tan prep pkts and adding the shimmer in one of the chambers for the holidays and proms. Has anyone used the shimmer?
4 passes are fine for our clients, the sides get plenty of coverage. I bought the poster, that seems to help eliviate the customers issues of when to turn. They just poke ther head out and look to remember the poses. I love the filtration system, no gagging or choking on solution, it is a great unit! |
