BTW, I have a completely different system and solution. I use Fantasy Tan and you can't get that solution without their equipment but I did try the Breeze and it was better than the AG Solution I used.

But I think he's wanting suggestions/options from people on what to use. I've used several and that was the best of the 3 or 4 I used. There's probably a hundred 'brands' on the market. Start getting samples from companies and try them out and see what YOU like best.

I agree. Get samples from as many companies as you can before you buy anything. Most will send some for free or for a small fee.
Also, you can use one solution for all people. It just depends on how heavy you spray the solution. I have a 10.25% solution that I use on everyone. If someone has fair skin and just wants a little bit of color then I spray a very light application. If they want a "medium" color then I spray slightly heavier. Same thing for all skin types but slightly increase the amount of solution used as their natural skin tone darkens. It is absolutely possible to customize a clients tan using one solution. I didn't realize this when I first started and bought many different levels of one brand and now they are all collecting dust in my storage closet. It may sound complicated but it's very easy and just takes a couple practices to get used to. Things to consider when choosing your solution: - color - how long the tan last ingredients - alcohol can dry the clients skin over time and produce dry crackly skin. I like something with as many natural ingredients as possible. - smell - does it fade evenly. Sometimes if it's too dark it fades badly but some solution fade splotchy no matter what. I prefer an hvlp. IMO, the solution comes out in a finer more even spray and it's much faster. I can spray someone in 10 minutes. I'm sure there are pros and cons to both but I went with hvlp. |

When I first started, I wanted to buy something inexpensive to see if this was something I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to go with hvlp and found one on ebay called turbo tan for $270. I compared the stats with other more expensive units and couldn't find many differences. I bought it a couple years ago and I'm still using it. I love it....it's sooo easy. When I first started I couldn't believe that its so easy. I'm also a nail tech and it took years to get good at parts of that profession so this was a pleasant surprise.
My only complaint is that this sucker is LOUD! I ordered a "quiet box" from the company and that helped. I set up my spray room next to a laundry room in the salon I work out of. I keep the unit inside the quiet thingy in the laundry room. I drilled a small hole thru the wall and fed the hose thru that and then attached the gun. Works like a charm!! I really thought the turbo tan would be something I would start off wiht and then have to move on to an upgraded system. I just don't know if a more expensive system would be any different. So far I haven't had any reason to change. |

The quiet box was about $100. I thought about making one but decided against it. It has to be properly ventilated so the unit doesn't get hot. Also, there is an on/off button on the outside of the quiet box. It might be kinda tricky to do that if you made it your self. It would be for me anyway!!
You might not need it if you can put it in an adjoining room. Good luck! I think you'll like it! |

I have a 'quiet box' for sale if anyone wants to buy it cheap. Mine doesn't make a noise so I have no need for it. It's ventilated well and has the holes for the hoses. Also has a lock on the front of the door so no one can mess with my equipment and stuff. I'll post pic's BUT they are easy enough to make!
