I have replaced all the hoses in the entire back of a machine before. Dont know what they used it in but whatever it was it destroyed the nearly all the lines. Took 2 of us 2 full 8 hour days to complete. Think it was on a 3000 that we did this

I don't know anything about the Magic 3500 but I used Breeze for a while. I stopped using it because it was really drying out my own skin and clients who were coming in on a regular basis. ( once a week ...some who were coming once every 2 weeks). Our skin was dry and scaly even after moisturizing twice a day. I have switched to solutions that don't have any alcohol and haven't had these skin problems. There are a few solutions that I know of that don't have any alcohol. In theory, you would be able to use any solution that was alcohol free...as long as it was compatible with a booth.

I almost purchased a used Magic Tan and was going to use All About Me. I understood it would work. All About Me is water based so alcohol is not an issue. They have CoQ10 and Hyaluronic acid to help moisturize. That was a big reason we chose it.

when i did the purge on the magic unit today we could all smell the alcohol in the Magic solution, nothing but magic has ever been use in it, i guess it's what percentage , would it be prudent to replaces the hoses as preventive maintenance? at point would you do that?
and on the all about me, would i have to adjust my unit for the flow? it was one reason i chose Breeze they do not put the thickener it their product. any ideas out there? |

The old lines on Magic tan are polyuretane. They break down with all solutions, including Magic's. Change out all of the lines to teflon. It is just standard 1/4" tubing, that same you can find in home centers to connect refridgerator ice machines.
Magic now uses the teflon lines and the newer machines allready come with the teflon.

On flow settings. The pressire should read 20 +/- when the purge is pressed and released and the flow should read 13-15 when the unit is spraying.
Changing to different fluids will have different viscosities so it may be nessessary to re-adjust the flow and bypass to meet these pressure readings. Air is set to 45psi.

Brian, this is a 2005 would i have the older materials in that one? how do i tell, they look like clear tubes right now, would u suggest changing them as preventive? and then part of reg maintenance or is this teflon good for years?

I am pretty sure all of the dual tank units came with teflon. Teflon is slightly cloudy and stiff whereas polyurethane is clear and extremely flexible and pliable and will not kink like teflon does. If you have the slightly cloudy, stiff teflon lines, you will not need to change them as they do not break down.
If you have the poly lines, just change them out before you have the unit pumping fluid all over the walls and the adjacent rooms. It will be alot more time consuming to clean that up that mess then to just change the lines out. You just remove one row at a time, cut new lengths using the old ones as measurements and replace them. They just pop into the fittings. You could do a whole dual spray unit in 3-4 hours.
