What do you do about the feet when you do a spray tan? I used botties before and people complained about there being a line so we stopped, then we tried these foot things that just go on the bottom of your feet works but to expensive. Now I have no idea what to use. Some people complain about that to much spray gets on the tops of there feet and it looks bad. Any advice???

Our customers have a choice of either using a barrier cream/lotion (no charge) or Sole O's ($3.25 pair) for the bottom of their feet. From the way your post reads I take it you do air-brush. We have the VersaSpa spray booth but I would imagine the same would work for air-brush. We've never had anyone complain of too much spray on the top of their feet so I don't know what to tell you about that.

If your using a too heavily orange based soloution it will show up more prominent on their feet. Use a naturally green based soloution or barrier cream etc.
Lighlty spraying hands and feet should make it all blend... like Wicked said. |

The Sole-O's....are those the disposable ones? They should be under a $1.00 a pair.

This may sound weird and cheap but you can use contact paper (the stuff you line kitchen cabinets with) and cut them into sheets and leave the backing on them. I make 4" x 11" sheets that they put on before I spray and then you just peel them off. They have worked well for me.
Like mentioned above, most of the time the feet will just blend with the mist from spraying the legs. Hope this helps. |

I have them stand on a towel. I'm thinking they are just not putting on enough of the barrier cream.I tell them to put it on there feet but people dont always listen. It dosent happen all the time its happend like 2-3 times. Still learning only been doing it 3 months. So in the long run not so bad i guess. Thanks for the advice.

I use the same technique on feet as I do hands. I spray the hands and then use a cotton ball, so the product gradually gets lighter, use the cotton ball around the base of their heel, spray the feet, have them wash their feet about two hours before their body, they look fantastic.

I have them stand on a towel and put barrier cream on the bottoms of their feet. Never had a complaint. Afterwards I have them babywipe the soles as well, i dont directly spray the feet, usually the overspray from the entire body gets them looking natural

That is such a great idea. We've been doing the towels but we're going to try this. Do you still have them do the barrier cream on the bottom of the feet or just the contact paper?
Thanks.

I don't think the contact paper would stick to their feet if you put barrier cream on the bottom of their feet first, plus I would think the contact paper would eliminate the need for barrier cream at least on the bottom of feet.
