Best Airbrush Gun - TanToday

I own 5 tanning salons and use the california tan customer bronzers in all the stores. Have constant problems with the guns breaking. Would like feedback on other guns out there that spray well and won't break down every 6 months. I have had to replace 4 guns in the last month. Thanks

Look into Apollo machines. Work horses. I've read other threads where people have issues with CT guns.

We do about 50 sprays a week with our Cal Tan guns. We have two of them and Tom breaks them down and cleans and oils them monthly. We've never had any issues with them.

At one time Caltan guns came from Apollo as did their machines. Don`t know now if they get them from another company or not.

Strange. I wonder if CT has changed and doesn't use Apollo anymore? Never see on these threads any issues with Apollo's.................

Several years back they (CT) was having problems with their guns. At that time they were coming from Apollo.

I use PAASCHE air gun, the HL gun #5 needle. You are able to schedule a client evey 15 minutes. I have had the same gun for 3 years. This is a single action gun. No need to clean inside of gun components. Excellent spray..

Cal tan is HVLP not airbrush, I don't think they they can be changed?

I have salons who have the CT Turbo Bronzers & Mobile bronzers for years with no issues. Proper maintenance & cleaning will keep them running long.

No they do have a HVLP on their site. We had problems with our gun a few years back because Caltan had me to call Apollo myself.

John are you saying you cannot use another gun with the Caltan unit other than the one they sell?? Do you know if they still use Apollo??

The gun shown above is for Airbrush units. The CT unit is an HVLP, I don't believe that you can use an Airbrush gun on an HVLP unit? I could be wrong....

You cannot. I have the same Paasche airbrush and airgun (forget the model number) but ever had any problems with either.

Correct, that is an airbrush not HVLP. Paasche does not have HVLP(I don't think) but they do have a gun that works fast like HVLP with a 5"-6" wide pattern. The gun is a D200.

I know you cannot and I know airbrush and HVLP is not the same. I was just asking if any other gun could be used with the Caltan units.
