Default What kind of lighting do you have in your spray room?

I am rolling my airbrush out next week (I know it's been years in the making) but I have a question on lighting. My room is pretty big, it is shared with a dryer (behind the tri-screen) and there is a sconce behind the tech with 2 100 watt lamps in it and the 2 lamps on the tri-screen at an adjustable angle. We still need more light so as not to cast shadows.

I was thinking of a photographers tripod style lamp, I want it to look good as well as function.

Thoughts?

Hey Jeff...

Good luck on the start up!

Im curious as to what material or procedure you used to make the screens!?

And what do you use for base/floor?

Im trying to come up with some creative materials to make a portable screen for the mobile aspect of my business...

Any idea is useful

Just an idea.....i don't have airbrush, but it seems it should work good.

Build a platform step for them to stand on and wrap it in vinyl.

cut a few holes and put in recessed lights. This way you have lights shining upwards below them.

And some of them you can tilt and aim, so the ones you put on the far end of the platform step (where they are not standing) you can aim on an angle towards them.

Jeff, I have a floor lamp behind me that has both a bright light that has normal room lighting then it has a flexible arm with a bright halogen light on it. I have noticed the placement of the halogen lights on the new unit is perfect for spray.

Din that's a neat idea but I'm short and already have some trouble reaching the top of bodybuilders over 6' tall shoulders.

I have a 125W heat lamp pointed at the person- it provides additional light, and helps warm the person up a little!

I struggle with lighting as well. We have a tall lamp with 3 adjustable lights that I move around with me as I spray. It isn't the best but have tried lots of other options and it seems like there was always a shadow.
