Default 2007 VersaSpa Vs 2009 Versaspa

What is the main difference besides the price?

The one that I am looking at has a heater but no voice.

When I go and look at it is there anywhere that I should pay special attention to? It is still operational so I will be trying it out while I am there.

I will have a Versa Spa authorized Tech take it apart and put it back together at my salon.

I think I read somewhere that the 2009 model had an upgrade where you can dry in between each session and that it had something to do with reprogramming the unit.

Does anyone know anything about this and what the cost would be do add this feature?

I am also guessing the dryer is the same in both models?

Any reason you guys would purchase a spray booth new over used?

Thanks
Susan

Heater and voice are sold together as a package. They never sold the heater by itself without voice. The heater runs off of the voice software so if it has the heater, it has to have the voice upgrade.

I would question why the unit doesnt have voice on it. It has to have the voice board and software to run the heater, so really the only option is that they removed the speaker.

if it has the heater, it has to have been upgraded with a 2009 motherboard and software so it would have every feature of an 09.

I would still question how the unit has a heater with no voice and who swapped out the computer boards

You can simply choose not to turn the voice prompt on, it is a default setting on the LED board.

she is saying the used unit she is looking at has a heater but doesnt have voice. She is not saying it is just turned off.

I would assume the seller would be telling her it does have voice and we just choose to turn it off if that was the case.

The heater works off the 2.0 voice prompt board. Pretty sure if you turn your voice guidance off in the settings it will also turn your heater off. They work together. That is why I am saying you cant have a heater and no voice and is the reason if you are upgrading your unit to a heater you have to upgrade to voice at the same time.

For the heater to work, it must have the 2.0 voice prompt circuit board and it must be turned on. If it doenst have voice, then the speaker has been removed or disconnected but voice prompt would still be turned on.

if she is looking at a used unit with a working heater with no voice, the only component missing is the speaker. Every other component of the voice guidance has to be there and dont know how they would have bought the upgrade that way...it all comes together.

i might be incorrect on my last post about the voice needing to be turned on for the heater to work. Second guessing myself now.

Voice prompt board definetly needs to be there though, so still no real reason why a unit would have heater without voice

When I am at the salon tomorrow I will turn the voice prompt off and see if the heater still works and let you know. You might be right about that.

They called it Comfort-Dry and said that it would dry you after your session. She said it didn't have the voice but it sounds like it just could just be turned off or the speakers missing which would be great.

Did the 07 models have something that blew air on you but was not a heater?? Just want to make sure when I try it out what I should be looking at.

If she is wrong and it does not have a heater/voice in it does anyone know what the cost is to upgrade the motherboard?

How can I tell what motherboard is in the unit?

thanks
Susan

i think i was wrong. I think the heater should still work with voice prompt turned off. It gets a 12v command when you send time to the booth to run for 5 min. and im not sure if the voice prompt needs to actually be on. Im curious now to.

The comfort dry is just the blow dry not the heater. The unit will dry you after each session. Same on all models A 2007 unit will need the complete upgrade kit which i believe is $2,000. and includes new motherboard, heater, speaker, voice chip

You can check the software version by turning the machine on and off and looking on the led screen as it is restarting. It will show the software version. You need version 4.3 to be able to add voice or version 5.2 to add heater and voice. Below a 4.3 requires a new board for either of the upgrades.

Is it worth it to add a heater and the voice to it or would you just leave it the way that it is and save the $2000.

Does it dry you as much as the heater? I really liked the one that I used that had the heater at the show (it wasn't really warm) but it was nice. This was the only versaspa that I have used, normally I use the MyMyst or the old blue box since those are the only ones that we have in our town.

With just the blow dryer is it much different then the older Mystic's?

What is level 1, 2 or 3 with the versa spa. I don't remember them telling me about it when we were at the show but I see several people pricing their tans as different levels and then the hydro moisturizer is an add on price.

Do most people charge a different price depending on the level?

Also what 3 solutions should I put in the machine, I was leaning toward clear, bronze and the moisturizer. Some say to just sell the prep in the package and other said it is better to use it in the machine.. any suggestions?

I checked my machine and if you turn the voice prompt off the heater does not work. So if your machine has the voice prompt on it perhaps the speaker is just not connected or working. The way to check is to go into the system settings and see if it asks you about voice prompt. If there is no voice option on the machine you won't see an option for it. The best to do also would be to call VersaSpa up and ask them about it. They can also tell you what it would cost to add the option if you don't have it. Good luck.

thanks for checking. I thought that is the way it was, but started second guessing myself after I posted.

Her unit from what she has described doesnt have voice or heater. I think she was referring to the blow dry as the heater

The last that I heard it was about $1800 to upgrade to the heater and voice prompt but that number may have changed.

Does anyone have a phone number where I can reach someone. I tried the number on the website but I could not reach a person only a machine that told me to leave my name and number and they will get back to me.

Last time I left information to try and get a password it took almost a week for someone to get back to me.

Thanks
Susan

I was able to reach them.. The cost of the upgrade is now $2500.00 and it included the install for this part.

Since I was going to have a tech install it at my location I thought they might give me a break on the installing change but they said they would not..

Now I need to figure out if it is still worth it to purchase the used model or go with the new model that included the warranty and free lotions.

Anyone have any idea what a 2007 model without the heater or voice is worth?

Thanks
Susan

I have a 2008 model with heater and voice that I would probably sell you for $20,000.
