Default Spray Tans and Psoriasis

Had a client cancel her spray appointment because her dermatologist told her that she would not get the results she expected due to her psoriasis. It's the first time I've heard that, is there anything to it? I told her that I would check with "some experts in the field" and let her know - so here I am, asking the experts. She will be coming in for a patch test anyway to be sure, but I felt it worth asking. FYI I'm using an HPLV gun with the AG spray solution. Comments?

If she is broken out and has dry patches those will soak up solution a lot more. She should be tanning as it's one of the few things that actually helps the condition. There's that vitamin D again. Dry skin doesn't spray well.

^^^ Absolutely!! My husband has psoriasis. When I first started testing solutions to start the spray part of my business (HVLP also), I used him as a "tester". The patches of skin will absorb the solution differently than the rest of them. It will be darker - because it's dry, dead skin.

He has been tanning in our base bed - only about 8 minutes at a time - about 3 times a week. It is awesome what a difference that makes!!!

Suggest UV tanning to her. She can ask her derm - he shouldn't be able to deny that it would help

The solution to this person's skin issue has this strange tanning side effect. Put in tanning bed and make this person's year!

You folks rock. I passed the feedback here on to the customer and she was over the moon with the idea that something would help her psoriasis. She'll be in to see me after her trip south to discuss options. I think I just gained a life-long client. Thank you all!

Can we advertise or tell people that tanning is good for psoriasis? I know we have to be careful with our claims.
