First of all, your notebook will probably not have a serial port on it. If it does, great. If not you will need a USB to RS232 converter.

Then you will need to get software. What software are you planning on using?

I was also trying to get it to work wtih SalonTouch. I have the serial port but when i connect nothing happens on the computer side either. Usually a driver is requested by windows but not in this case.

Are you running the TMax Timers through a T-Max Manager or T-Max Manger PRO???? You can't just hook up the timer to the computer without a manager. The Manager then runs serial port (i have it run through a serial to USB) If you are running XP, it should recognize it right away with USB as it's a plug and play and will detect it. If you are running serial port, then you would have to install drivers through the CD provided with the Manager.

You will also need a program to set the beds. The program comes with T-Max Manager when you buy one. See if you can download it from their site. This won't keep track of your customers or sessions or anything unless you purchase a program like Salon Touch, Sun touch, Helios and others. Just to set the beds from your laptop you need a disk called Adnet 2000. It's made by the manufacturers of T-Max Managers. Their website is listed below. See if you can download it.

ADI is the company. Their website is www.appdig.com

You need Adnet 2000, that is the program that runs your T-Max Manager to set beds. Comes with the Manager when you buy it. By ADI

www.appdig.com

don't know if it's downloadable. I have the disk but never used it as I have Helios.

There are a whole bunch of drivers and updates there, but you are on your own. All i know is the Adnet 2000 is the program and then you have other stuff there too. Maybe you should call them and see what to do.
