Default Orbit facials

We have an Orbit with 4 -1000 watt facials. We have had no problems at all. All of a sudden we have a facial out, then it's fine, then I have 2 out, then they are fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Could be old lamps, bad facial contactor, weak ignitor, or just low voltage. Orbits need high voltage or the facials don't start.

One thing I know is that they aren't old lamps.

take the cassette out and check the facial white wires, make sure they are tight in the ceramic holders. check to see if the wires are tight in the ignitor too. could be loose wire. cheapest fix too. you can even check to make sure the 4 pin connector is plugged in tight. hope this is it ??

have you had the glass out recently? theres a little safety switch in there and if the little wire is'nt pressing against the glass, the facials will short out...check that too.

you also know if a client hits the start button (tmax) and then hits it again to pause it...it has to cool down in order to re ignite...like 3 to 4 minutes before they all will come back on.

Yes I knew that about the start button. Tom is bringing his meter to the salon tomorrow to check the power coming into the bed, then he'll go through the other stuff. Thanks everyone.

What brand of lamps are you running? If there is no pattern in which ones then it is either old lamps/wrong lamps or low voltage.

What is the best brand to run in Orbits?
We have the 44/4 burgundy beds.

Not meaning to hijack Kathy's thread, but curious since you asked and seem to have knowledge of these beds.

Beds came with Radium lamps (AUVL). Stick with Radium (Supra or Solar Elements). Most AUVL lamps are not made by Radium anymore.

Not yet. Tom didn't make it to the salon today. He'll be there tomorrow and hopefully we'll figure it out. They seemed to be working fine today though so maybe it's the voltage. ??? I'll let you know.

Voltage is a major factor on Orbits. The facials are running a 1000 watt lamp at 800 watts. If the voltage is low they will not start.

But if the bed has been running for months and been fine...does voltage change?
I've always found it to be a loose wire somewhere shorting in....and out...

come on kathe, get it fixed and tell us what was wrong. you're killing me!
