I am having an issue i have not seen before with my 818. When I push the button to bring the canopy down, it shuts off the bed and the canopy will not come down as if the bed is not on. But if I wait about 1 min after the bed has come on, I can bring the canopy down like it is suppose to do.
Now I did notice on a few trials that all the lamps would come on with no delay. SO I am wondering if the contactor for the lamp delay is shorting out. At first I thought it was the board for the lift motor and foot fans, but I replace that with no change to the results. Whats your thoughts? Rob

If all the lamps are coming on at once, maybe there is no juice left to lower the top and it creates an overload? The lamps were designed to come on in 3 intervals. Maybe an overload caused by the lamp delay not functioning ( I quess, kinda like you said).

Does the bed completely shut off? Or just put the canopy up and keep the exhaust running with the lamps off?

The only strange thought I had was with both lamps powering up and the draw from the canopy all at the same time the exhaust slows down enough from the draw to allow the sail switches to fall out causing the bed to shut off. But that is just a long shot guess. I would change your delays and see what happens then first.

Well, i got it figured it out. It was not the fan delay or the lamp delay timers that I thought it was going to be. Its not the lift motor or the control board behind the panel for the lift switches.
IT was the battery back up board. For some reason that board was shorting out and when I tried to lower the canopy it would shut the bed off and act like the bed had just finished its session. So now there is no battery backup on my 818 for now. I have 2 more boards that I can swap on there the next time I have time to do it.
