Default starting a lotion company

hi i regretfully used to work for a lotion company with a pretty bad name i intend to do exactly the opposite that they do. im in the process of making my first products and i wanted to see if i could get some feed back on popular smells that you as the salon owners like the best as i feel smell is a very important part of producing a fast selling product

Nothing too perfumey! I like citrus smells, definitely something LIGHT.

Pretty bad name? 3 Wishes it must be!

Ya. "Spa" scents are nice. More mature. The fruit thing can still be done right. But the "designer" smells seem to sell right now.

thank you! and yea thats a good guess i did worth for 3 wishes and you got to understand they did pay well for a bit but i really hate what that company stands for. im more focused on what im going to do right. first of all flat pricing the only free units there will be is on top on anything you buy at flat pricing and literally taking designer skin and 3 wishes combining things i like so my packaging will be good i will pay special attention to that plus quality and i want take care of salons so we can all turn good profits im actually using a manufacturer that designer skin and brad grossman used to use he was the person who started designer. im going to be small to start but i will make salons a ton of money by selling amazing products at the best prices and make sure you enjoy doing business with me. and the day any of this is fullfilled dont do business with me

and pricing will only change if my price goes up and i will post any documentation showing if my prices go up i will make a set amount on the products and you will get bigger discounts the more you order of any given product and if things go as planned i will make sure you the salon owners we be a part of all new products whether it be one aspect of a product or another based on what sells the best i wil probably change it up like maybe the smell i take feedback or the bronzer level or what have you

please be careful in the naming of such products. make them user friendly. graphics of concern as well. then...trying to keep them off the internet would be the best...good luck.

Smaller bottles-I like 8oz or MAYBE 10 at best
Clean and fresh scents
Goes on easily
Simple but catchy graphics-not to loud and tacky
Provocative but TASTEFUL names
Tingle without bronzers

Please give the fragrance a name that is discriptive of the product, such as coconut papaya, or rose and lilac. NOT Something like "Let's Get Down Tonite" or Funky Ocean Breeze."

I know it may sound picky, but I definitly sell more of "specific-ly Scented" lotions. I think the client wants to have a visual of what the fragrance is. And an agreeable fragrance causes them to spend more $. For training purposes, I would like to see an industry standard of an identifying icon on each bottle. Possible classifications might be:
1) f=fruit
2) F=Flowers
3) E=everything else
And spend enough $ on the caps, so that they don't crack.
And I like a " pump" (like Poten-C) bottle that you don't have to shake like a maniac to get anything out of it.

And like Amie said. 8-10 ounces at best.

Lotion and moisturizing combos with companion fragrances..,
Hey, are we (OR more importanly, me) going to be on the inside scoop for goodies, since we're being so thoughtful, constructive, and helpful??? C'mon now...

Please don't let Din name anything. He means well, but...

Unless you want to have a special up scale sexually oriented marketing line, (OR maybe we've stumbled onto something big here, and that's EXACTLY what you should do) he's really not your guy. Really good at some things, and rediculously clever, but...

No nasty sounding names and please bottles that you can open to let the customer smell before buying.

I like tropical scents and clean smelling scents best.

Heavy on the accelerators and a tingle no bronzer. We don't sell bronzers well here. Accelerators fly out the door though.

HEY.......

Okay, here's what you should do. If you don't listen, you'll fail.

#1 Small bottles, roughly 8oz
#2 High end presence like MRI bottles, High end Devoted Creations bottles.
#3 Clean smells, go smell some shampoos...they smell good. I don't know anyone that would complain about smelling clean.
#4 Don't go extreme on bronzers to be basically paint. Concentrate more on ingredients that will give you darker colour and a nice glow.
