Default Looking for non-aloe lotion if it exists

Customer in tonight, wants to buy a lotion but needs something with no aloe, no paba (no problem there), no jaba/java (?). I think the aloe is the big one. Any suggestions out there? This a person who is on a limited budget so hopefully we can find something in the range of $40-60. Failing that is there another option? She wants (and I want to sell her) a lotion. Help!

Maybe. It's been a good seller here. But ... she looked at it and poo-poo'd it because it still has aloe. We're talking REAL sensitive here ... I need to find something with NO aloe and that's going to be a challenge. I have a NFR Free For All packet - I'll see if she'll let me try a patch test.

What happens when she uses aloe?
It is one of the least irritating ingredients there are.
I would think there is another problem other than aloe.

Also, It would help if you told us what lines you carry.

when u tell people they need an aloe based lotion and not mineral oil or pretroleum, they automatically develop allergies to the aloe and other good things as a way saying they aren't buying. I think she is FOS.

had one complaining about flaking and dryness and I asked her what moisturizer she was using, she said she made her own with baby oil and fragrances oils and coco butter. I told her that was her problem and she spouted off that she was allergic to aloe and some other stuff. I said whatever that stuff was garbage and not to complain about her tan if she was going to rake off her tan everytime she used it and she got mad, went right over to the sample Angel on the counter, rubbed it all over her knowing it had aloe in it (caused I tried to sell it to her) and said this is great, but I do not have any money. I said I thought you were allergic to aloe, she said certain kinds. WTFE. LIARS. and the kicker, she did not have any of these allergies when she was buying her tanning lotion when she signed up.

Sorry, my bad. I carry mostly AG & Designer Skin. A bit of Fiji and TI to round things out and provide some variety.

EKC: I agree that aloe shouldn't cause a problem but she had one bad experience (maybe it was the aloe, maybe not), and is being very careful now. I will check with her on her next visit to see what her reaction was. She does want to buy something, that's the point. I think if she was FOS she'd find a more plausible excuse or just come out and say "I don't use/need it". Anyway, more on this after her next visit.

I agree with the other posters. If she is truly allergic to something in a lotion it's probably not the aloe. If she is, that is beyond rare; aloe is very non-irratating. I have never seen anyone alergic to aloe.

If she truly wants to buy, then keep selling her packets until she decides she can use it.

in the 40-60 dollar range

By Fiji blends
Naked truth has no aloe . Great non irratating non bronzer. Smells like raspberry. no pabas no jojoba.

NanoX has tons of bronzer but no aloe or paba.

Fiji also has Tandori, Its for sensitive skin and has no aloe. does have dha tho. and some pabas

Also Tantric is higher priced, no aloe, but if she is complaining, maybe she will like the soothing feeling of the tantric essential oil for her pulse points. It may calm her down. Has a tiny bit of paba..

Remind her that anything without pabas will usually be harder to spread and will therefore take longer to apply.

I'd Tell her anything cheaper, she will never be happy with.

Thanks esun, that's excellent info and at an attractive price range too. Going to see my disty tomorrow so I'll be sure to get some of these. THEN we'll find out for sure if she's bluffing ... and yes they'll be packets not bottles so she can keep buying and trying until one fits. The dist is 10 minutes away so I can get a bottle quickly if she finds one she likes.

"... without pabas will usually be harder to spread ... " - and since it's harder to spread, more will be needed, which means buying sooner. Gotta like that part.

Designer Skin has several, check with your distributer for a full list. We carry Monarchy at $65 which is a great lotion.

I have a client that is allergic to aloe, it's not that rare. I wouldn't assume a client was lying about an allergy.
People are allergic to stranger things...like the sun.

I wouldn't assume the client were lying either, just allergic to spending money.
Aloe based lotions generally cost more than water based ones. Therefore some dont want an aloe based lotion. They make excuses like they are allergic.

People allergic to the sun...should not tan. Wont be buying lotion either.

Really? Come on! I wasn't saying people allergic to the sun are trying to purchase tans or lotions.
Just saying an allergy is nothing to take lightly or assume someone isn't being truthful. I used the sun as an example of just how strange allergies can be.

She may be allergic to aloe, it is rare however. Aloe was the main ingredient in the sunless solution we used in a salon that had 3 mystic units. Out of the thousands of sprays I never saw one person have an allergic reaction. There may have been some but they were never reported to us. I meant if she is allergic to something in the lotion it's probably an ingredient other than aloe, or she is just lying. I didn't say she was lying :-)

Fiji hidden treasures. If that causes issues, then I don't know what to say.

My supplier hooked me up with some packets - DS Spellbound, Fiji Nano X, Fiji Tantric. I've heard great things about Fiji, I may have to carry them again. I've scribbled down all your suggestions as well - thanks for the info!
