I get personal satisfaction helping people. 17 years ago I had a website called "Help I've Fallen Into the Web and I Don't Know What To Do!" I set it up to help new internet users learn how to navigate around the web. Several sites around the world emailed me to see if they could add a link from their site to help guide their clients as well.
However.... you don't need to be a moderator to help members. ![]()

i don't think the site will be the same without brians contributions...already is'nt. i hear the name don...compared to brian...heck, i have no idea who "don" is...so how can he be compared to brian? does'nt matter. i can see where LF wanted brian gone, to get more advertisers not afraid to get honest opinions from brian. political.

Can you imagine they gave the boot to the ex mod that started this, as well as many other threads?

As far as Brain was concerned, if someone doesn't like it, tough, grow a spine. I generally agree, but you don't have to be rude to give an honest opinion. There is a point where it becomes unprofessional. Last edited by looking_fit; 24th July 2009 at 06:33 PM.. |

Don Smith. Posts all the time in the education forums with VERY good articles about vitamin D. Actual case studies, not just news articles. He's probably the smartest guy in this industry.
For those of you who don't know who Don Smith is, you really need to check out the educational forums on this board. It's almost a shame you guys haven't done so already. Lots of good info there. |

LOL
I like how editing can change meaning of sentence to the point it doesn't make sense. That's the danger of editing if it's not done right. Anyway, since my edited post doesn't even make sense now, and I'm really not as illiterate as it reads, the point was that Brian was a smart-"alek" and figured if someone doesn't like it, tough... There, it might make sense now. |

I don’t know how to star this but here I go,
I always try on emphasizing value, as well ways to understand each other, ways of speaking ones truth, ways of listening and finding out what others people truths are? We can catalog this as technique and technique is useful but not enough, there is a critical aspect of this process that goes way beyond technique, and that is the willingness to show up fully and express ones truth and more importantly, the willingness to allow the other person to have their space to respect them enough to be interested in understanding want they want to say. We also want to know the difference between fact and opinion, there is people that they are very fact oriented and there is the ones that they are very opinion oriented, and you have to understand the point. The site had moderators, and I guess the representatives from the site decide that they don’t need that many and I respect the business decision, every one in this and in any business want to improve. I believe that this ex moderators brought a lot of facts and opinions and believe that they play an important roll, and I am missing some of that, like I said, this is only my opinion. It is good to be big; it is bigger to be good. B. |

Interesting thread, I just figured that I got "the boot" because of my extended absence, lol.
![]() Things will never be as they were in the "glory days" of TT. It kind of reminds me of a jock in high school who is now middle aged and wanting to relive his high school years when he was the big dog. Some of us "peaked" on TT because we felt important. Some of us just wised-up and stopped sharing TMI online. It bit us in the rear after a while. I made lifelong friends on the old TT so I'm thankful for being on there. Like one poster suggested earlier, now we just communicate via IM, on the phone, or in person. The ideas still flow, but we don't have to worry about who is listening. It was great when we could all share new ideas, pricing models, etc, but now we have legitimate concerns about major chain salons coming in our backyard and knowing everything about us as well as every competitor in the neighborhood as well. No, what we do isn't rocket science, but there is no need to give advance notice about a new idea/product/service that we are going to offer to our customers. Let them at least work for it to find out that info! Besides, I'm much more productive when not glued to TT. ![]() |
