i think it is wrong to require 100 posts. i have been on this site since i opened my salon and this is my second post!
i dont post anything because there is so many negative respones to so many posts that i spend my time on here reading the advice i want and having to ignore all the bickering, fighting, and negativity. maybe there sould be a private section that is only for postive people and not the people that have 1,000,000 posts by just saying "you should have searched this before posting," why contribute to the thread if thats all you have to say, obviviously alot of people have alot of time on their hands where they can sit on their computer and search subjects all day, other people only have time to ask a question and want answers and not smart ass remarks. (watch how negative people will be about this post, yet most people could agree) thanks have fun with this one (it will be clear who i am talking about just by the respones to this) |

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. The private forum is new to the site, and we welcome your thoughts and suggestions on how to ensure that it works for the community! The requirement to have a minimum post count is under review.

Really now....then WHY did I recieve a phone call to make sure I am a salon owner.
I thought the WHOLE idea of this "PRO ONLY" forum ..was for those who own salons... AND LEARN from the more experienced salon owners.... Whats the use of having it ...if those of us newbies are blocked out?! I do NOT post alot..read and learn from others ... This is confusing...and not smart at all |

How about losing the 100 post deal and making it, you must be registered for 1 year or more before you can get on the "tanning industry pro forum".
Yeah, thats the ticket. |

![]() Postings can also be of a "Thank You", That makes sense ...""Hey that makes sense", or "Tried it. Worked well for me". It's called interaction. Is it so much to ask for as your 'taking' the info from Pros ??? Believe it or not, we've all been there at one time or another, and can get "Jaded" after awhile.

I do not know how this got so messed up. Why would someone think the only reason we needed a private forum was so all new people could learn from the pros? The private forum was needed so that we can all talk about what is going on in this screwed up industry. We don`t need everything being put all over the internet. Right now the smount is 50 post. I do not think that is too much to ask. 5 post a day will take you 10 days or 10 post a day you can do in 5. You can post about anything you want. Go to the Pub and talk about nothing.
After you get your 50 post then come on in and we will finish discussing why we needed a private forum.

Who would have thought that discussion was necessary on a discussion forum.
![]() People with 3 or 5 posts in 5 years....it's time to give back to the community. Otherwise, there's plenty of info on the rest of the forum as usual. I think it's more than fair. Not cuz i have 10,000 + posts, but because if i can donate my time for free the help hundreds or thousands of salon owners on here, i don't think it's unfair to ask people to participate on this forum to have access to the private forum. That the private forum is not for lurkers, but for salon owners that participate. Stop lurking, start participating.

People they do not bite, at least not too hard. Thicken up your skin and throw in your two cents (american denominations only). Then, let the fur fly.
Oh yeah and do not get too worked up over the BS that goes on. |

Since the post I was trying to make a point with was removed, I'll make it here...
Post count has little to do with meaningful contribution. Din may have 11,000 posts, but how many were truly useful; maybe 10%? How does having 50 posts make a salon owner a "contributing" member of the forum? Is there some special sound or display that pops up after that 50th post that turns on the contribution switch in the brain? The 50 post rule can only be justified as an attempt to bring the forums traffic up. Can someone honestly say no salon with post counts under 50 has anything worth while to contribute to the forum? What the heck has happened around here over the past couple of months??? |

People come here for two reasons:
1. Entertainment 2. knowledge The vast majority of the members have post counts over 1000 because of the entertainment factor. Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought the reason behind the private forum was for tanning professionals to discuss matters they didn’t want their clients to see. What does post count have to do with it? If the member is a verified salon operator, how they heck is post count going to make any difference?? Can anyone make a realistic argument as to why post count takes priority over actually owning/running part of the tanning industry |
