| Magic 636 with a buy it now of $13,000 on eBay. Seemed like a good deal to me, but I figured I'd post it here for everyone else. I don't have the power or funds for a bed like this... Sun Italia MAGIC 636 High Pressure Tanning Bed - eBay (item 330246761611 end time Jun-30-08 12:38:07 PDT) |

THAT IS A JOKE! ![]() That isn't their HQ - but certainly in the epicenter of their salons and it IS one of the best salon operations in the country, in my opinion. Definitely tough competition! The Ebay listing says her Magic was made by Iso Italia. Odd....thought they made the Matrix. The thing about buying on ebay, especially such an expensive bed for such a low price.........you have no idea if there is a lease company or bank somewhere that ACTUALLY "owns" the bed - and will come looking for it! Also - better know what you are doing to try to disassemble, transport and reassemble a HP bed like this! Hmm - buyer beware. Could be a great deal, or could be a way to part with a great deal of your money! __________________ Ann Wiggins Noe Highline Capital 877-422-4100 x 250 anoe@highlinecapital.com www.highlinecapital.com |

It was doomed from the start. Bardstown is a town of 15,000 and there are 2 quality operators, my salon and a small, local operation with 3 locations in town. I would imagine this bed has very low hours. |

So, now the price will be $16,000 and it is still in a room. Labor to put it on a skid, $2000 Transportation, $2000, (whether you rent a truck at $200 a day plus fuel {diesel @ $5 bucks a gallon} , [meals and lodging if you are going real far with it] or throw it on a freight truck) Install at new location, (not counting materials) $2000. OK, now we are up to $22,000 and need to do the electric and set this thing up properly. Point is, is that so many tire kickers on these sites think that the prices most list on here are blue book and they never take in to consideration whether the price of a bed is in a room or in a wharehouse on a skid that includes delivery and setup. Go ahead and buy this for $13,000 and see how quick the additional expenses add up. Keep in mind that this is no Sunvision with two bolts and a plug, you better know what you are doing or you will have the most expensive paper weight known to man. |

I can kind of accept the $2,000 to ship this, IF you don't have the ability to pick it up yourself and it’s a fairly long distance. But the $4,000 to disassemble and reassemble the bed seems outrageously high. How long does it take to tear the bed down and set it up? Paying $50 an hour, your number equates to 80 man hours for both locations. And how is this any different than a bed you'd buy from someone else? Is installation and shipping commonly included with a bed of this type?

| Moderator | Might be a little high but not outrageous. It takes more than one person to disassemble. Plus packing and crating it, nevermind figuring out a place to store it in teh crate til it is picked up for transport if you dont have a loading dock or a secured area. THis is a much more complicated bed than a regular clam shell. __________________ |

This is one way to save a good chunk off the above. The techs I have spoken to around here charge around $50 an hour. If they need a body or two to help lift and move, I can supply them for much less. One would be me... I highly doubt it would take more than two days to tear down and set up this bed. So say 20 hours x $50 an hour plus some T&E. I'd think $2k would be on the high side.
