| OK folks, TanToday has added a new site Moderator after much debate, deliberation, yelling, kicking and screaming. Bamas' own Blondjuls. Tell the group a lil' about yourself Jules.

Born and raised. I moved to Bama to finish school (college) and be closer to family that had job related moves. I ended up loving it here, and before I finished school at 21 years old I opened my first tanning salon with a friend in Madison, AL. We had three beds and a stand up and were in a horrible location. But we rocked along for almost 2 years growing the business until we were maxed out (doesn't take much with only 4 units). From there we knew we had to move the salon. The current location was unable to support what we needed any longer. I then became an architect, electrician, expert on HVAC, interior designer, bed technician and all the other crap you learn how to do when you move or build a salon from the ground up. My best friend and business partner turned up pregnant and unable to care for the salon and add yet again more capital to expand it. So I let her out of it. I refused to sell something that I had put so much into. So I turned to my retired mother as an investor to make up what I couldn't afford myself. She then became my partner and helped to support some of the managing of the business. I now have 9 beds, 2 stand ups, and a VersaSpa. I have new digs that I literally picked out everything from the wall sconces to the flooring, and painted every wall myself. It grew faster than what I could handle by myself. Amour d'Soleil 2 is coming soon. I honestly never thought I'd be able to compete with the chain that was already thriving here. But I have certainly held my own when so many others had failed before me and were just bought out by them. There's a quick story about my salon. I'm actually a nice person. You might not like me, but honestly, I don't care. For 25 years old, I have proven that I'm no dumb blonde. I've had my turn on the block, and still managed to come out on top. Thanks for the welcome. I'm always willing to help...if you ask nicely. ![]() __________________ "Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, integrity, heart, talent, guts, and beauty. Then what the difference between mW/cm²'s of A vs B vs MED mean. Finally... you'll be able to tell Drew how to meter lamps properly. He needs help. |
