We sell Arbonne,
Not tons of it, not a money maker, but i sell more of that than i do any accessory in my salon (tatoo cover, sun spot gel, goggles)
It isnt a big money maker, but niether is any retail item i have in the store (as you all know its about selling 10 of the item not 1)
I dont choose to do the Networking side of it, (you dont have to) that could be seen as i just get the products for myself or i dont want to hassle my customers etc.
northtanman, i had the same concerns and more than you do, i just cant see one more thing (or all of the product line) to keep up with, ive already got the normal business stuff to do with and i barely keep up with that!
I researched Arbonne, (both sides of it) and the products are fabulous. That i couldnt argue with, we bought a glass display counter (400.00) and 2000.00 woth of the stuff to fill the cabinent.
I even Talked to Kathe before doing it!

Here is what Everyone wants to know (well, have you sold it?)

I have about half of the first buy left after 8 months, i dont do the networking side at all (my choice, perhaps my downfall)
It adds another dimension to the store (positve) that seperates me from the competition and more people use it than you think.
My sales arent from the new customer spill, its from when they walk in and see it and go "Arbonne"!
Ill just buy it here instead of ordering it from "XXX" and having to wait for it to be shipped!
I wont try to convince any of you, i do LOVE the products (and im Male!) but if you do have any questions Kathe has the answers hands down, if you want my opinion (like thats gold?) PM me here or call me at 979-574-5615 Dave

Except for tanning lotions and after tan moisturizers, I do not get any better discount from any of the distys i have used than the salon cost printed in the catalogues unless they are running a special.
If you are getting the same discounts on something like AG's facial creme, eye creme, body spray etc. as you do lotions and moisturizers, I'd sure like to know where.

You missed it,
I dont do the networking side of it, and i dont sit on the product as you said, I was the one to chose to spend the $2400.00, it can be done with 100.00 as well.
You dont Have to do the networking side as you keep pushing and there are no penalties for not doing that
I make just as much selling Arbonne as i do a pair of goggles.
Neither retail sale will make me millions.
It looks as if you are looking for the homerun sale and in this industry it just doesnt happen, (in real estate i could sell the 4.5 million house at 6% commision and eat for a year)
We sell at a certain % of markup whether its goggles or lotion or Arbonne thats business!

The margins are significantly larger on tanning lotions and supplies. And they are professionally manufactured for our industry.

You know, I'm a pretty patient person and I keep my cool pretty well.

Arbonne is not out to take over the tanning industry. I am just one person and I thought I could help some salons. I've helped some that are not even in my line (cflindley is one of them). I just like helping people make more from what they have.

You have not addressed several of the points I made in earlier posts so there is no point in even talking to you anymore. Seems like you just have a bug about this and nothing is going to make you go away.

I have spent a lot of money to help support this board which gives you the opportunity to make your point known. I am supporting the tanning industry. I am Arbonne. I am a member of the ITA. I have paid my dues to this industry and been part of it since late 1993. I have watched salons struggle. I have struggled. Arbonne has helped me. Perhaps it might help someone else.

I do not sit and pounce on my customers about Arbonne, either the product or the business opportunity. In fact, in the 11 years I have sold Arbonne I have not signed up one business builder from my salon. Not one. Some wholesale clients in order for them to be able to get a better discount but no business builders. All of those I have gotten other places than my salon.

If I was the way you make me sound I don't think I would have any business - salon or Arbonne.

Please tell us kathe what the mark up is on a lets say $25 lotion, i mean i'm curious what it would retail for? This is a legitimate request i hope? I mean without doing the networking aspect of the business, does it sell for $100 like a bottle of black does? Thank you for your info.

When I place my Arbonne orders I do them in $250 increments and take advantage of all of the deals going on. When I do that I can easily take a $25 lotion and mark it up to $50 or $55. No it's not like tanning lotion where we get 48% off cost but it's still a nice chunk.

Today my example:

I've been dead slow thanks to the weather. I've sold $298.90 in Arbonne for a profit of about $149.45. I've sold $0 tanning lotion because everyone who came in has already been sold a lotion and they don't need another one yet.

One of the sales came from someone who doesn't tan with me, she doesn't tan period. She will never buy tanning or tanning lotion but she spent over $100 because she needed product and she knew I would have them.

Oh and that does not take into account the 17% that I get on top of the sale for my "networking" override check on the sale.

On the $298.90 that is an additional $50.81.

ok, so basically theres 100% mark up? i would of thought it was much less? thanks, but you have to be careful what you buy? not all of it is 100% mark up? When i did a networking company, something i bought for $55 only sold for $70, thats "one" of the reasons i was so negative about this. Guess we should of gone over the prices...had i known its all 100% mark up i would have felt differently for someone just signing up to be a "retailer" I felt it was misleading.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It doesn't matter what you buy, if you buy in $250 increments you basically get between a 50 and 52% discount on whatever you order, your choice. If you order in lesser amounts, or don't take advantage of the deals it can be 35 - 50%. $250 is a pretty easy amount for a salon though so it shouldn't be a problem. My monthly orders for the salon range from $1000 - $1500. I want people to make money and I will show them the best way to order.
