| Salon Owner/Arbonne VP | When I started out I just stocked the basic skin care and body care. As the business started coming in I expanded to the nutrition and aromatherapy lines. Now I pretty much stock everything except the makeup, that is all done by special order from the catalog. The makeup line is huge and I don't have enough room to display it all so I just take orders for it. I do have the foundation samples on hand to match that. I have 2 plain white display cases that I keep most of the product in. I have 2 other shelving units that I use also. I rotate my displays monthly to keep it looking fresh. On Monday when I go in I'll take some pictures and post them on my website so you can see them. When a new salon gets started we will talk about your demographics, your display room, your budget, etc. Every one is different, some might do better starting out with nutrition and some better with skin care and some with body care plus skin care. Some do better with it all, it just depends. I've had some salons get started with a $350 order and some with a $3500 order, it all depends and I normally lean towards less is more. This is also a product, just like any other, that you need to use in order to sell. Tiffany in WA just ordered the starter kit ($350) and got most of the items for herself to try. That way she can try just about everything and will know what she wants to stock in her business. That is many times what I will recommend, especially for someone not familiar with Arbonne. Let me know if I can help. Kathe __________________ Kathe Ray ITA member 248.890.6968 Arbonne products make a great add-on sale to any salon. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE AGAINST ARRBONNE 1. Any product can be good, alot depends on the person who is selling that product. Most problems happen when the person selling the product like arrbonne(reps) the totally sell them the wrong product for their skin type. Because most do not even have a clue about skin, and the Do NOT HAVE PROPER professional training. I fix people faces ALL THE TIME because their mary kay, avon, Arrbone know it all rep gives them the wrong products(cause they have no idea and trust thest people ) and mess their face up. I fix peoples faces all the time too that's my job and they are coming from other salons with well known products so the blame can't be put on just "reps". There are some dodgy therapists out there.. Oh and some dodgy skin care ranges I have tried quite a few in my time |

| Salon Owner/Arbonne VP | Tanology, I'm not sure what your credentials are but you are speaking out against Arbonne like most people speak out against tanning. As Belinda (Wicked) stated, Arbonne is one of the highest quality skin care lines out there. She is a certified Beauty Therapist in Australia. That is comparable to a licensed esthetician in the US. In fact they have more stringent training and licensing there than here. She has used many different lines and is very confident in Arbonne. I have been with Arbonne for almost 11 years. I have a licensed esthetician in my salon who loves Arbonne. I have plastic surgeons on my arbonne team. I have plastics nurses on my arbonne team. They are all confident that because of the way Arbonne is formulated, with SMART nanosphere technology that reads the skin, that anyone with some basic skin care training, can confidently sell this product. And Arbonne has an award winning FREE online training university that every consultant is able to access. You do not need to be a certified anything for Arbonne because you are not touching a client, only recommending products, and you will be able to confidently do that with the basic training. The lines are set up that way. And because of the testing that Arbonne does (which I posted to in your other posts) that is far and away more than any US company does for allergens there is another notch of confidence given. For example. Most skin care in the US is tested on animals. WHY? For safety because chemicals are being used. Most do not test on humans unless they want to use the term hypoallergenic on their label. If so then they test on 10 people for 3 days and if 3 or less break out they can use the term on their package and marketing. Arbonne tests EVERY product on 50 people for 14 days and they have a zero tolerance for break out. And they don't test on animals because they don't use chemicals. They also use less than 1% preservatives unlike most companies that use up to 52%. They use no animal by-products, no artifical dyes or artificial fragrances. They use organic ingredients whenever possible and use gold standard ingredients at all times. They use no petroleum products or by-products. This company is NOT in any way shape or form like a mary kay or avon. This is high quality skin care that is sold by plastic surgeons and high end salons and spas as well as independent consultants. It has US and Swiss patents pending on both it's Intelligence line and NutriMinC anti-aging lines. In the 4+ years of the patent process they have ZERO challenges. That means that NO other skin care line in either of these 2 countries can claim to do what Arbonne products do in clinical testing. That includes all of the high end companies you see in dermatologists offices, the mall and even medical brands sold in doctors offices. Not one can do what Arbonne proves can be done. If you do your research on these products you will find that any salon owner can sell these with confidence. And as Bel said, we salon owners are already skin typing experts, or should be. We know skin, it is our business. And yes, there are dummies with the company. There always will be. Just like there are dummies running tanning salons. The good ones just keep doing their best in both companies. Just like I fix people who have been to bad tanning salons. Thanks for your comments, Kathe Quote:

I managed a cosmetics counter for over 2 years. I had no background in skin (I was 18 and recruited from working in the mens department. I had the highest sales so was promoted to cosmetics). I was hired and trained on site as were all my reps. Millions of people buy products from cosmetics counters in the mall. I would say that Arbonne sounds like they get the same if not more training than all the counters at say Macy's does. I was at the counter for almost a year before I was taken to a class to learn anything, everything else was hands on and practice. __________________ "Well-behaved women seldom make history." --Laurel Thatcher Ulrich I know an awesome forum | |

| New Salon Owner Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Florida Posts: 2 | Kathe- I am opening up a new tanning salon and spa this weekend (we have been working on it since October!). It is a full service tanning salon and day spa featuring ARBONNE. The entire salon is full of natural elements, and the whole front area has the entire Arbonne product line stocked on the shelves. Our esthetician does a wide variety of facials, body treatments, cellulite treatments and massage using only the Arbonne products...I have people calling a few times a day asking "when are you opening? I want to come in and buy Arbonne!", I have sold $800 worth of Arbonne the past week just from people walking by asking when I am opening etc, and buying it right then and there! I moved down here in Florida from Ohio 2 years ago and I am only 20 years old...decided to open a tanning salon/spa and the Arbonne thing just kinda happened since I have been using all the products for 8 years now (my mom got me hooked-she was a consultant). I have signed up a few people and it looks like this is really taking off... I have having some issues though, many of my "upline" has been telling me to get rid of the Arbonne on the shelves and just sign people up like crazy and ignore the "retail" part of it...but that is 80% of the business here...that's the whole point of our spa is that we are a "Arbonne Spa" as people have been calling it. I understand the network marketing aspect of this, but I also see many clients excited about the fact that they can walk in and I always have product on the shelves. We even have a full cosmetic counter with EVERY PRODUCT to test and buy, and a licensed make up artisit on staff who does lessons, group makeover events, and special occasion make up application...we are in a growing area by 2 colleges and some high schools...only 2 salons in this area as well. What is your advice on selling/marketing the product in your tanning salon and do you agree I should take the product "off the shelves"?? Sincerely, Mandy Boggs |

| Salon Owner/Arbonne VP | Absolutely do NOT take the product off the shelves. If your upline is not giving you good advice you need to go higher to their upline. This is an amazing product and with the launch last week of the Seasource Detox Spa products they are going to sell amazing in your place. Find out who your next level upline is and talk to them. Or their upline. I would love to help you but you really need to stay in your line. My advice though is to keep retailing in your salon. I have sold Arbonne in my salon(s) for 11 years and have helped get other salons started with it. Perfectly fine according to the rules. | Salon Owner/Arbonne VP | Yes Arbonne has products for all age groups including babies. The college age girls love the Intelligence skin care and the f.y.i. (for young individuals) line. It's made just for them. Kathe __________________ Kathe Ray ITA member 248.890.6968 Arbonne products make a great add-on sale to any salon. | Rookie Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Richmond Posts: 1 | Hi Kathe, I'm so excited to see you on here. I am an Arbonne user. I have 3 salons and I'm considering bringing Arbonne products in. Arbonne products are wonderful. I LOVE THEM! The RE9 set is incredible! My concern is the profit margin. I have listened and understand the business building side of Arbonne and think it is an incredible opportunity. I believe that is how you make money in Arbonne. That is not an option for me at this time. I have way too much invested in tanning at this time. There is no way I could devote time to start another business. How do you make money a wholesaler? What is the profit margin after paying staff 10% commission to sell and my EFT clients currently get 10% off all products, can Arbonne be discounted by 10% for my EFT clients? I have fabulous staff that move products well because they are trained and paid well. Is there enough profit margin to pay my staff 10% give 10% discount to EFT clients on Arbonne products? -Christine |
