2008 is going to be an exciting year for TanToday

Dear TanToday Members,

I have some exciting news to share with you today!

Last week, after many months of talks and negotiations, I decided to sell ownership of TanToday to LOOKING FIT magazine. Over the last six months, I have really gotten to know the folks at LOOKING FIT and seen their commitment to the growth of the indoor tanning industry. I am excited about the resources and manpower they have available to make TanToday an even larger presence in the industry.

I have always said, the site is not about the owner, i.e., me, but all about the membership. It has been my pleasure to be the Web site’s captain. I have watched over TanToday for the last three years and through that time seen it grow from a one-member site to a thriving, award-winning community embraced by tanning salon owners all over the globe. During that time, we had a lot of fun, and hopefully you gained something valuable to be used in your salon.

In many ways TanToday feels like my child, and as such I had to make sure we had a perfect match before I would give up my parental rights. This past week, I flew to Phoenix to meet the people, face-to-face, who will take TanToday to that next level. I am tremendously confident they will do so, but I want you to know that I am not going anywhere. You will still see me on the site a lot in an Admin role, and more than likely still see me at the various conventions around the country. Hopefully you will even see me at the next ITA Expo in a TanToday booth. Hint, Hint!

LOOKING FIT respects TanToday's commitment to the betterment of the indoor tanning industry and realizes that they are guests on our site. They've committed to operate the site as usual. They also are extremely determined to strengthening and growing the forum by attracting more members who will share in the exchange of information, ideas and debate.

At the end of the day, TanToday as you know it will remain pretty much the same as before with the exception of greater content, more perks and a much larger advertising budget. LOL! I would like to see 10,000+ salons taking advantage of TanToday during 2008, and I know with your help, that personal goal for our community will become a reality. Because, this site is about salon owners helping salon owners and that will never change!

I wanted to jump on and let everyone know that we here at LOOKING FIT are very excited about this new venture. Thank you to all the kind e-mails we have received so far. I wanted to personally remind you that TanToday is your forum, your community. We don’t plan on making monumental changes. We hope to add resources and manpower that will help the community grow bigger and better than before.

TanToday’s commitment to the betterment of the indoor tanning industry is the same as LOOKING FIT’s. Our goal is to increase the number of tanners, so salon owners increase revenues. We realize we are guests on this site and hope you welcome us as any other guest.
