Site Enhancements - TanToday - Helping Salon Owners, One At A Time, Since 2000!

Dear Tan Today Members,

As promised, we wanted to inform you of some new and exciting updates and additions to the site. First and foremost, we remain committed to keeping TanToday a resource for you—the salon operators and members of the indoor tanning industry.

Over the next few weeks you will notice some subtle changes to the site in order to increase traffic, stimulate new participation and provide better resources for those using TanToday.

A number of forums will be merged into one forum to generate more traffic. If you examine each forum and the traffic based on the number of threads and responses, some don’t warrant their own forum and would be better merged into one general forum.

For example, the SunTouch forum will be merged with the Computer/Software forum. Because of the crossover topic, it makes sense to merge these two into one general forum. All discussions related to education and training will now be merged into one forum—Education & Training. A new Industry Media forum will combine all the trade publications as well as any industry events into one area. Again, this will create more traffic and foster more communication and debate.

These are just a few action items that will be implemented over the next few weeks. Future enhancements will include updates to the registration process and the addition of new forums. We’ll be adding polls and demonstrations as well. As always, thank you for your being a member of the TanToday family.

We are excited about the future of TanToday and continue to welcome your ideas and input.

how about the private forum? This would be a good time to implement this. You'd make a lot of people happy on this site

We are working on that too. It is on the list to discuss. We are interested in getting more feedback on that subject from all the members too, so chime in please.

I think it would be beneficial to have a private forum for salon owners only.

^^I agree. We talk about everything in this site, forgetting at times our customer can read everything including pricing!

There needs to be a better way to secure the site and prevent non-owners from entering. Maybe it is a check process after registering and requestor will be notified by email when all facts are confirmed by Looking Fit.

Aside from closing the site down, I can think of no more effective way of destroying your rankings within Google and other search engines.
