Instead of the "The #1..." slogan, consider something like: "A Community Of Indoor Tanning Industry Professionals" Did you notice the link to the Cluetrain Manifesto? That's just the beginning. There is a book behind it. The Cluetrain Manifesto Entire Text Index Page Ignore it at one's own peril. __________________ ObamaNation. Sing with the children. I didn't vote, because a logo for a website is of no importance or relevance to me. That said - I immediately was turned off by the "tag line"! Agree with the "#1" being unnecessary (earn it, don't say it) and think "salon owners" is untrue, limited, and short sighted. The Original TanToday WAS the premier place for ALL the professionals in the industry to gather. For a lot of reasons, I don't see that ever happening again. However, if that is the goal to move toward that direction, these wouldn't be the "logos" I would pick. But it's not my site, I'm not a graphics person, and I will come or not come regardless of what logo and tag line is picked. __________________ Ann Wiggins Noe Highline Capital 877-422-4100 x 250 anoe@highlinecapital.com www.highlinecapital.com

I have to agree with Sunsally that this used to be the premier site for tanning professionals and the way it is going, it doesn't look like it will be again. This site is following the same path that Larry's site did, where a owner with a big ego thought that only his opinion mattered. We can took back now and see where that site is. Judie, that is where this site will wind up at with Larry Jr. running the show. As far as you giving your word that the top one would be used, no offence but Larry Jr. told us that your opinion does not matter. Only his and the 2 others that are running the show matter. |

We have been watching all the posts and are taking everyone's suggestions to heart. FYI, a new logo was in the works when Alan owned the site. We we decided to move forward with that plan to help move the brand forward. Our graphics department designed the logos. After seeing all the comments we may even scrap the logos for one made by a member of this community. Whether you take my word for what it's worth is up to you. __________________ Judie Bizzozero Group Editorial Director LOOKING FIT www.lookingfit.com www.tanningtraining.com www.tantoday.com |

PS - Until you have personally contributed 1/1,000th of the time I and the other Moderators have put into this site over the past several years, I suggest you watch your tone from here on out. __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan

Quote button is no longer there, but from the thread on the Salon Owner's Only Forum (Alan is in black):
I hate to see posters and members threatened to "watch your tone from here on out" after apparently already been given a ban. I've never seen a post by Big Al where ANY of the posted rules have been broken! I've never seen him curse, give a "finger" smiley, be rude or anything else. You can't have a "community" like this and expect everyone to agree all the time. But to basically let it be "Wild, Wild West" - UNLESS you disagree with a moderator or an admin and then it is "watch your step" is so distasteful, and shades of an oppressive dictatorship, not an open community -"of the members, for the members, by the members". Like I said - I don't care one way or another about a logo - more power to those that do. But I do care about the "climate" of the community - and continue to be troubled by what I see and am experiencing. I hope as much attention is put to that topic as the new logo. __________________ Ann Wiggins Noe Highline Capital 877-422-4100 x 250 anoe@highlinecapital.com www.highlinecapital.com
