| Coming all the way from the great state of Oregon please welcome Angelique. She has only been a TanToday member for a short while but her knowledge and experience in the indoor tanning world goes back. She is also a self confessed forum junkie so I am sure you will see lots of her (usually really late due to the time zones). Please welcome her into our community with open arms and look for her insightful posts.

Until now it's been hobby forums ... but now they will see less of me as I spend more time here where it really counts! I am really glad to be part of a community where salon owners all over help one another to make our businesses better I am very excited about the UTS - United Tanning Salons association!Just a little bit about myself for you all... I have been a tanning salon owner for almost 13 years. Before that I was an indoor tanner since age 17 when my doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and perscribed indoor tanning to ease my pain. The heat really helps my muscles. It wasn't long before I noticed that living in the Northwest it's really rainy and snowy from October to April and being one of the millions of folks who experience S.A.D. Seasonal Affective Disorder (lack of UV to the retna causing seasonal blahs and depresion) Tanning really helps in more ways than one! I came to join the TanToday forums to get myself involved with friendly, helpful folks that are also salon owners to help me stay sane I use helios in my salon and have my home PC networked to my work PC with PC anywhere (soon to change with backoffice in version 11) to help manage my salon. For the past couple of years I have spent more time away from the front desk and in house, day to day operations due to my muscular condition getting worse as I get older. I found that I can do most of my admin from my home office (way more comfortable for me). I recently lost a great manager who I absolutely adored. I am in the prossess of training a new manager. I say lost because she went to a banking job that started her out at $10 an hour with a garanteed raises in 30 days, 90 days, six months, 1 year and once every six months after that... with full medical/dental/optical benefits and two weeks paid vacation a year with 8 hours paid sick leave (accumulative) monthly, and no managerial responsibilities. I also lost two really great sales staff employees who moved away this year to go to college. So I am training 3 new staff members all at once right now. First time I have ever had to train more than one employee at once. Actually first time I have had to train anyone in many years... my awesome manager had that all under control. You will see me on a lot after business hours which in my time zone is after 9:00pm pacific. I look forward to making new friends here and helping our community in any way that I can Best wishes to all for a tollerable slow season. Let's help each other in our down time make the best of things and prepare for an awesome busy season! __________________ __________________________ Thinking Heavenly Thoughts... ~*~Angelique~*~ aka Jaime B. You aren't by any chance a cross stitcher, are you? As a self diagnosed forum junkie myself. I thought I may know you from a XS'ing board. Great find, Alan! ![]() |
